States of Motion aboard @thefloatingart.hotel

Grateful to all the incredible artists who joined us on this inaugural journey of The Floating Art Hotel during the Monaco Grand Prix.

States of Motion explored movement not as spectacle, but as a condition of contemporary life – shaped by time, transformation, energy and human experience. Across sculpture, installation, photography, digital works and live performances, each artist brought their own interpretation of what it means to be in motion.

Thank you for your trust, talent and generosity in helping bring this vision to life.

States of Motion brought together works exploring movement in all its forms. From kinetic installations and digital artworks to photography and sculpture.

Set across the yacht, each piece offered a different perspective on motion, transformation, and the way we experience the world around us.

Which work stayed with you the most?

This week, we created magical memories … ones I will never forget. A different kind of love affair from my ‘Summer of 69’ story but a love affair nonetheless and perhaps even more special 💕

Photography and Polaroids in particular were our guiding thread - connecting us to moments of laughter, deep friendships, and shared creative energy. I’m grateful for the bonds we made and those we strengthened. A true testament to the power of team work, positive energy and friendship above all. Feeling blessed 🙏 ❤️

📸 My heartfelt thanks first and foremost to @cyrusartist @maison.pan for the excellent curation of Booth J17 alongside all my ‘Polaroid Family’ 😜 @marie_obegi @charlesjohnstone @akriboud @rogerballen @sarasahores @instant_surf -

📸 Heartfelt thanks to our @photolondonfair family … @fariba_farshad @__sophie.parker__ @alexandraroscanow @mariasukkar

A brilliant visit to the #DrawingBiennial2026 this morning led by @drawingroomlondon co-founder Mary Doyle @marydoyledrawing - a fascinating exhibition of drawings by a broad range of artists from the very established, Alison Wilding, Michael Craig Martin, Richard Deacon, Mona Hatoum, Rana Begum… to emerging artists. And the best part is that you can bid (from 9 June) on all the works as it’s an auction in support of Drawing Room’s programmes. A big thank you to the team for welcoming us so warmly 🙏🙏🙏 - Afterwards we walked to @whitecube #bermondsey for Katharina Grosse’s ‘I Set Out, I Walked Fast’ where YPA London member Henry Primmer-Pyke gave us a great intro to her practice and approach to painting.

🌪️ A selection of my series “Sea of Troubles” is on view @art_rotterdam with @podbielski_contemporary until March 29 Booth C16 Unseen Main Section

📷: From “Sea of Troubles” series
Camellia sinensis var. assamica I, 2023
Photograph on rice paper, image size: 35.5x30.5cm

🌊 “Sea of Troubles” is a series of photographic works printed on rice paper; Using teabags as both material and subject, I explore tea’s layered history and its entanglement with the colonial and post-colonial tea trade.

Each image suggests a miniature terrain of instability—darkened horizons, turbulent weather, shifting ground—echoing the political and cultural unrest of the 17th century when tea was first introduced to England from China. The domestic ritual of tea becomes a lens through which to consider systems of exchange, belief, and power.

The work moves between analogue and digital processes, linking an everyday object to broader historical narratives.

Memory, superstition, empire, and ritual—all steeped in tea.
