When I saw that @lu.beltran.c was in the Bay Area, I immediately reached out and we got together to paint! No, we’ve never met, only little chats here on IG, but in person it felt like we’d been friends for ages. So wonderfully odd how some connections seem so effortless. Also exciting was that @franklinlei was free to hop in on the plein-air fun, and we all ended up painting each other 😂. You’ll have to see their posts and stories to see their takes. It was fun playing SF tourist, and also learn a lot about Columbia and the culture there. Lu has PLENTY of incredible adventures up her sleeve and is now in Alaska, so be sure to follow. #pleinair #gouache #sfbotanicalgarden

Finally got a blog post up on the Spain trip! I discuss the week that @franklinlei painted together, and shared all the juicy gods. Okay, it’s really mostly just pictures of food and paintings 😝. Link in my stories, or check out my Substack.
Oh, and this was a painting I forgot to post at La Sagrada Família. There was a big festival going on, and we had a blast painting the excitement. Franklin took on a much more ambitious scene, but that gave me time to go shopping 😈. #travel #spain #barcelona #gouache

Our last painting in Barcelona before hopping on a bus to our offsite in Girona. We had no time to be picky about subjects but luckily this spot was pretty fun! Enjoyed watching the commuters, whether they were by foot, train, bus, or bike. #pleinair #gouache #barcelona

Second painting of the trip! La Sagrada Família, such an incredible building! It’s so interesting and whimsical. One of the best parts was actually using my conversational Spanish with people that stopped to ask about the painting. I’ve always wanted to learn a language, so the fact that I’m finally doing it in my 40s is exciting! It’s Duolingo Spanish, so terrible 😂, but was able to talk to a few people for a while.
