I had known of @frankthorpv as the madman photojournalist who brought large format film cameras into the US Capitol (including an 11x14 pinhole camera), but I had the chance to hear him talk about his work at @filmforeverweekend a few months ago, and I found him to be deeply introspective, and maybe more importantly, able to bring out the introspection from his subjects. His project "After the Riot" is filled with contemplative portraits of Americans that lived through the insurrection, and I was bloody impressed. I bought his book and also took his portrait.

Shout out to @miraparkphotography for the encouragement and assist.

BREAKING NEWS: While Republicans continue to withhold information about the status of Senator Mitch McConnell’s health, another key Trump ally, South Carolina’s staunch maga Senator, Lindsey Graham died suddenly at age 71. Per @nbcnews :
.
Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who was elected to the Senate in 2003 and was a close political ally of President Donald Trump, has died, his office confirmed early Sunday. He was 71.

Graham died Saturday night “from a brief and sudden illness,” his office said in a statement.

“Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period,” the statement said.

Graham was chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and was seeking a fifth six-year Senate term in November. He was one of the most well-known members of the chamber and a key voice within the party on defense and foreign policy.

more film forever/polacon portraits.

I was super excited to meet @frankthorpv for the first time, I've been following his LF work around DC for several years so it was awesome to get the chance to hear him talk—he was also a super fun portrait subject and basically dived headfirst into the ferns for me to get this shot.
