It was an incredible experience to hear “Maeve Toolan of South Side XC Devo from St. Louis, Missouri” announced over the loudspeaker as she rolled to the starting line for her first USA Cycling National Championship XCC race. Then the whistle blew, and everything she had trained for and practiced was put to the test.
Practice starts: check. Maeve clipped in, took off, and led the pack. She eventually eased up to let someone else set the pace, but a moment of second-guessing in the rock garden tripped her up and allowed the rest of the field to get by. She lost valuable time—but she didn’t let it defeat her.
Maeve shook it off, refocused, and began reeling the other racers back in. She overcame the setback mentally and launched one final attack to secure third place, earning her first podium at her first National Championship!
Congratulations, Maeve! The bar has been set—and now it’s time to raise it again. #usacyclingnationalchampionships #southsidexc

State champs baby 🥇 at @icc_challengexc

gave my all for this one, both my legs fully cramping going into the last corner but, still went for the sprint and lost by a bike length. Happy to have a great battle with @jimmybourisaw

Lost the battle but, won the war. Unfortunate I did not win the overall but, I won my age group so I am the Missouri State champion for category 1!

All thanks to @cmileski_coaching and @south_side_xc for setting me up for this win! couldn’t have done it without them!

🫣 Little peek back at some of the good times at St. Joe State Park last weekend with this years iteration of the Miner Tough race unleashing unexpectedly hot temps, broken handlebars, a new switchback climb, the OG Tunnel, finish line splashin’, and some post-race storms ⛈️

📸 @janzowphotography snapped some all-time photos from the day, and if you were racin’ and haven’t scrolled through his album yet, you oughta! I mean, even if ya weren’t there, you might enjoy them 😃

Monica was also roaming around the course a bit in between her cow bell ringin’ and you can find her images at the link in bio ⬆️

The Klaus Park Klash & Miner Tough 1-2 punch of back-to-back race weekends here in Southeast Missouri is really starting to become a favorite week of the year for us, and it’s always a treat seein’ so many of you good folks out at both 🤘🏼

Klaus Park Klash 2025 did not disappoint! This is one their all-time favorite courses. The results and smiles on their faces showed it!
🏁 Dave crushed 6 laps—his best marathon race yet!
💥 Landon rode 9 strong laps and earned a P4 finish!

Huge shoutout to the @south_side_xc team for all the podiums, grit, and team spirit. Big thanks to the incredible coaches, support crew, and @fraziercoaching for the guidance and encouragement every step of the way! 💯

The heat was on at UFD Rhett's Run!☀️ Dave's bike couldn't handle it and broke down after 2 laps. But Landon was on fire, riding 5 laps to take 5th place! Shoutout to @south_side_xc and @yomomtb teammates for pushing through, and Coach Eric for keeping Landon cool and focused! @fraziercoaching
