POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This weekend I had the time of my life during the @worldclimbing Paraclimbing World Cup.

After qualifications I was first! I made so much progress since my last competition, two months ago in Innsbruck where I ended up 10th. After that competition I started doubting a bit about my self. But I wasn't going to give up. I trained hard, ate healthy and slept as much as possible (stupid heatwaves!) and got help from @liselottedebruyn

In the finals I ended up fifth on the World Cup which places me fourth in Europe. Just one more hold would have put me on the podium, so I am still hungry to make up for that on the next two competitions in Korea and Japan at the end of October.

Congrats to pavitravandenhoven and @cam_sophic for their amazing climbs. Thank you @guidoluypaert for taking care of us.

Congratz also to @davidgoesclimbing , @ampvlee , @raininbergen and especially @rubenroldan_ypk for steeling my medals ;) and challenging me to keep improving.

And thank you to all volunteers, organisers, routesetters and everybody who helped making it a great comp.

📸 @xsloba thank you for the great pictures and I wish you many hours of sleep!

Can you find me in this picture? 😅

What a weekend in Belgium 🇧🇪
@klimax_bvkb & paraclimbing.be delivered something I've never experienced before — a real lead climbing comp with clipping the rope as you go, bouldering and speed, all in one comp over 2 days, for roughly 40 paraclimbers 🤯

As far as I know, the first event ever of this format. And honestly? I want more of it.

I was super curious about how it would be to lead a route in an actual competition and it just felt amazing 🤩 Lead climbing just hits different. That extra focus and that flow when you climb a route and face a whipper if you can't keep going — there's nothing like it. @worldclimbingpara, if you're reading this… consider it a formal request 💯💪

Thanks to @serbus_moving_you I could bring an amazing crew: @nkaneider behind the camera and @myikigai.mentalcoach keeping my head straight. You two made this trip something special 🙏 thanks again for coming with me on this crazy trip 🙌

And a huge thank you to @fre.climbs, @lisevanessch and every single volunteer who made this happen — you built something that paraclimbing needed 🙌

I didn't think it would actually happen when we fantasized about it on the flight from Korea to Munich 🫣 but you did it 🙌 hope to see you again next year 🇧🇪

Some more pics are coming in the next week 💪

Successfully made it possible. ✨

Thank you @fre.climbs, the crew, and the Klimax Gym for organising the three musketeers of climbing, jointed together for beloved handdecapted, footloose, wooblewalkers, race trackers, the skin readers with their guide cheerleaders and many more, to test the field of hunger games. The finals arrived just in time, before the food coma kicked in.

i loved the first glance of the wall, where all made the collective hive mind spasm "oh my... an arched roof," and so we gathered for our first triple skin assassination of international competitors.

Fun times behind us. New ones waiting to be breathed in.

🎤 Meet another TEDxKU Leuven speaker.

We are excited to introduce Frederik Leys, a Belgian engineer and paraclimber who began climbing in 2014 and competing internationally in 2016, becoming Vice World Champion in the leg amputee category in 2021.

His talk, “How to Persevere Like an Athlete, Overcoming Challenges and Setting Long-Term Goals,” explores how athletes approach life through long-term projects built on structure, milestones, and commitment.

Because perseverance is not about never falling short, but about continuing to move forward with purpose.

Stay tuned for the announcement of our last speaker tomorrow 🌟
