A very special night for Philadelphia’s creatures of the night. 🩸🥀.

I was so grateful to join the Miss Philadelphia Vampire Pageant this year @doom.bar as both a sponsor through @philly.larp.society and a judge. PLS also had the pleasure of helping bring the evening to life with some of the décor, which made getting to sit back and watch everything come together even more special. ❤️🦇

There is so much creativity in Philadelphia, and nights like this are such a beautiful reminder of the people who make our city’s alternative arts community what it is. Every contestant brought something completely their own to the stage, and it was genuinely an honor to be part of celebrating them.

Thank you for having me, and congratulations to this year’s vampire royalty. 🖤🩸

And dammit, I felt so happy being surrounded by friends! More details to follow in the coming months. It's such a beautiful state, being around by all the greenery brought out my hobbit side.

Further adventures in Philadelphia at Club Velvet! I haven't played too many larps that have tried integrating a web app with their game and I think @philly.larp.society is on to something here. It makes sense too, after all, we all have phones, our modern day larp characters probably do too! I love to see blending game rules and mechanics with the real world reality we are in, this is something that anyone running a modern day larp should be looking at.

Club Velvet itself is flipping the typical vampire game on its head: you don't start as a big bad vampire, you're human. If you wanna be in the big leagues you're gonna have to bargain, make deals and maybe compromise your morals. It ought to be worth it in the end anyway, right? What's a few backstabs along the way? This addresses an issue I've seen with some vampire games and that's incentive to screw over other players. You're here because you want to be a vampire and crave the power that comes with it, and that provides strong character motivation to try to get what you want.

I'll definitely be playing again, though for next season I'll probably play a more serious character, but maybe not. I'm really looking forward to playing their other game Crossroads, I might just be working on a costume for it.

What an incredible experience! ❤️‍🔥

I’m so honored to have been a part of the Red Bull Table Tavern activation this last weekend at PAXWest, and getting the opportunity to help bring this little world to life! Being able to step out onto the tavern floor meet so many amazing people and be part of something this unique was genuinely unforgettable!

But, the real magic comes from the team behind the tavern. From our floor actors to the people who plan, build, coordinate, create, and somehow make all of this come together are truly incredible. None of this would’ve been possible without them and I’m grateful to be a small part of what we all created together.

Thank you to everyone who came out to see our little tavern, and thank you for coming with me on this amazing journey.

Here’s to the next adventure!

It was great to see Gordon Ward and Chris Ward at Star Lake Musicamp on Friday! This photo encapsulates a few of the many people who have been part of the legacy of the GNY music department through the years. Decades of music teaching and leading future generations of Salvation Army musicians.
