Lately with @kithrunteam powered by @on - this was my first summer having people to regularly do long runs with and even though most of the team is much faster than me it still made a massive difference. We’ll hit Malibu half in a few weeks- originally I didn’t think it would be an all out race but recovery from Chicago been going well enough I might change my mind 🤷🏽‍♀️

After climbing the mountain, the highest point was the next mountain. So just enjoy the journey.

truly don’t have the words (or the voice lol) to articulate what this past week has meant. what I will say is this: communities are built by the people who build them.

what makes a week like this so special isn’t just the race. it’s watching an entire city show up for one another.

it’s the thousands of runners who wake up at 4am on a sunday morning.
it’s the months spent training before sunrise and miles logged after long days of work.
it’s the faces handing you juice boxes and oranges, spraying biofreeze on cramped muscles, or offering you their last gel packets.
it’s the strangers pacing you for a few blocks when they see you struggling.
it’s someone yelling your name from the sidelines when you didn’t think you had anything left.
it’s the high fives and the makeshift cardboard signs, the piñata hanging over Manning ave, and sometimes even a hot dog cart.

it’s crews cheering for other crews.
it’s supporting runners you’ve never met like they’re your own.

these moments don’t just happen. they are created by the people who show up and build them.

from the folks at @eaglerockrunclub, who remind us of the joy of running and the joy of running with friends. that friendship just might be the greatest fuel there is, and doing things with the people you love is what makes it all so special.

from the team at @walkgoodla, who create space and access for people who have never seen themselves as runners but who now proudly belong to the 1% of people in the world to complete a marathon.

& from my family at @venicerunclub, who embody what it means to lead with integrity and who have built something far bigger than a run club — a place where strangers become family and where the people always come first.

I have never felt so much pride to be from this city. to be an angeleno. to witness all of you run and to have the privilege of cheering you on.

I am inspired by your bravery, your grit, your determination, your humanity, your selflessness, and the love you show one another.

congratulations, runners!!! we’ll see you again next year 🤝🖤

What a year. Thank you running for what you continue to give me.
This activity continues to bless me in more ways than I can think of and I’m stoked on it!
