I’m so glad everyone is responding so well and engaging with all the gig footage I’ve been posting. I truly believe it’s because the footage is real. It’s recorded with a phone , humanity and all. It’s all unrehearsed and in the moment. No drum mics, no processed sounds, no studio magic or corrective software etc. just live music. In these times of technology and viewers not knowing what is real and what isn’t , I’m taking the only approach I know. Playing in the moment. #prodrummer #drumstagram #drumsticks #drumlife

Accompanying the soloist is a fundamental skill, but inspiring the soloist to kick it up or change direction is something that comes from decades of playing behind great improvisers. Playing time and hitting accents is fine , but it’s not a conversation. Go for having a conversation. #prodrummer #drums #drumlife #drumming

When you only have a trio and you’re playing music recorded with many layers , you have to come up with ways to produce a fuller sound and keep the audience engaged, otherwise it’ll sound empty. Plus, I love improvising. 😁 #drums #drumlife #prodrummer
