September. After school sessions #islandlife
Another month extension to the 3.5yr endless summer…. Banking every second of solar power, whilst the boys are still confused what a season means.

Big hellos & Big goodbyes ♡

COACH FREDDO.

Manager of @surfshak_jsy. Co-pilot of all things @jerseysurfschool. And an absolute OG of the Jersey surf scene.

We feel pretty damn lucky to have Freddie Seymour in the mix.

25+ years in the water, representing the Channel Islands in junior comps around the world, and winters spent chasing waves through Oz and wherever else the swell takes him.

Friendly face. Proper waterman. Quietly charges when things get serious.

Freddie and Jake first worked together at the Surf Shak back in 2010. Sixteen years later, they’re back in the same building, helping to steer the whole thing.

A lot has changed since 2010, The love for it defo hasn’t… One of the good ones.

COACH FREDDO 🤝

A little Steve Irwin wisdom: never stop appreciating the incredible creatures & places we share this planet with 🦘🐟🌿🦪

Kangaroo Island, you have our hearts!

Some places leave a mark not because of how far away they are, but because of how connected they make you feel. To nature, to people & to the world around you.

JUNE ‘26. HOME❣️ It was a WARM welcome back - heart, soul & temperatures!

The boys spent so much time in or around the water I’m not sure they even realise, that they don’t live on a boat anymore! We are loving the constants of land life, surrounded by family & friends, eating berries by the punnets, bubble baths, summer solstice, heat wave(s), Jersey underwater world, 9pm sandy sunset stories & 10pm moonlit surfs. Special times living ‘west side’ with Lolly & Pop 🫶🏼 Forever grateful for the support and village surrounding us as we find our feet on Terra Firma.

Big moments & days: We got the keys back to our house, boys trialled out school & nursery transitions, whack-a-mole brain for me as I navigate land life admin and adjusting to having a diary with appointments again, unpacking, repacking and unpacking again… Time to settle and slow down as we head into July 🤍

Isabela Island 🩵 A true treat.

Volcano horse rides • swimming with marine iguanas & sharks • flamingo spotting • surprise floods • farm visits & fresh produce for Pinnacle • crew caught tuna • unreal empanadas • beach games & sundowners at Pink Iguana Bar.

These islands sit on one of the most volcanically active archipelagos on Earth, formed by a hotspot where magma rises & slowly builds new land over time. A constantly evolving landscape still being shaped beneath your feet 🌋

We also shared the water with Galápagos penguins, one of the rarest penguin species, surviving unusually close to the equator thanks to cold, nutrient rich currents flowing up from Antarctica.

Extra special having Mum there to share it all with us, one of those places that felt wild, simple & unforgettable all at once.

Isabela, you spoiled us 🤍

It’s not just sunsets and dolphins.
It’s long days, changing plans, teamwork, discomfort and finding beauty in the messy bits too 🌀

Floreana, you were something else.

Surfing with the locals, sharing waves in one of the most remote corners of the world. Spotting wildlife everywhere we turned - marine iguanas, boobies, sea lions, turtles, tortoises. Exploring pirate lava caves that feel frozen in time.

One of the highlights was meeting the first Ecuadorian family to inhabit the island, hearing stories, sharing moments & trying their homemade plum wine.

Finished off with sunset happy hour with the Pinnacle crew, salty, sun tired & feeling very grateful for this little chapter. We were sad to wave goodbye.

Places like this remind us how much magic there is in slowing down & being part of local life, even for a moment.

Really really really wish I got my big camera out more in the Galapagos - but going through the phone camera roll is pretty cool to relive the memories & finally give them the square they deserve!
