POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sending my flower love to our fellow podcasters and to the journalists and storytellers who continue to inspire us. 💐🎙️

As @michaelanstendig and I get ready to launch Season 9 of our agency (@hannaleepr)’s @hospitalityforwardpodcast, we’ve been reflecting on why we started this journey in the first place: our love of great storytelling and the people behind the stories.

At a time when everything seems to move faster and faster, we believe long-form conversations matter more than ever.

They give us the time to slow down, listen, learn and truly connect. 💕

For us, the podcast has always been a love letter to journalists whose curiosity, passion and dedication bring meaningful stories into our lives.

We feel incredibly lucky to sit across from them, hear the stories behind their stories, and celebrate the work they do.

Here’s to Season 9 and to all the podcasters, journalists and storytellers around the world who keep meaningful conversations alive. 💐❤️🎙️

I just finished reading Crushed: How a Changing Climate Is Altering the Way We Drink by @freedmanreports (Brian Freedman), and it completely changed how I think about wine.

The book explores how climate change, or as Freedman calls it, “global weirding,” is reshaping wine regions around the world. Drought, wildfires, heat waves, frost, shifting seasons, and water shortages are changing not only where grapes can grow, but which varieties can thrive.

But the story isn’t entirely negative. New wine regions are emerging, growers are adapting, and the conversation is shifting from “What do consumers expect?” to “What can grow sustainably here?”

More and more, I’m seeking out producers and regions that are embracing sustainable farming practices, adapting thoughtfully to changing conditions, and working with nature rather than against it.

Have you noticed climate change influencing the wines you drink?

6 nights. 100+ wines. 1 ancient cellar. A lot of emotions, new friends, experiences, discoveries. Incredible journey. And definitely one in a lifetime experience. This is The Wine Independent Summit.

Special thanks to @igilauri and @gilauriwines for making this dream come true.

New York has been crafting exceptional Riesling for decades — and the latest from @james.suckling says it all 🍋🥂

James Suckling reviewed 193 New York Rieslings, and 185 of them scored 90 points or above. That's not a trend. That's a statement.

From the mineral-driven, crystalline whites of the Finger Lakes to the lush, ripe expressions of Long Island, New York is producing Riesling unlike anything else in the world.

Last week was the Texas Hill Country Wine Symposium—and it felt good to be back with the Texas wine community.

I had the chance to share some perspective on the third-party validation Texas wine has been receiving lately (scores, reports, national coverage), and I also got to sit down on stage with Chris Brundrett of William Chris Vineyards to pull back the curtain on what it really takes to build something durable here.

Chris and I go way back. He’s uncompromising, relentlessly positive, and always pushing Texas wine to get better—through farming, hospitality, systems, and standards that hold up when it’s busy.

I recapped our conversation in this week’s Direct to Press using his “Rose / Thorn / Seed” framework—plus a few thoughts on what the broader market is rewarding right now.
