Isa Pavon-Ortiz, an artist in our Fresh Eye Arts program, gained a new fan today: Governor Walz!

Isa met Governor Walz during a visit to the Latine Heritage Month Group Exhibition at Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (@cluesofficial). Isa has a painting in the show, which the Governor took a moment to admire.

"All of us stand together as neighbors," Governor Walz said afterward. "The Minnesota that we love and care about comes out of the art, it comes out of the stories, it comes out of the hard work."

Thank you @mngovernor for taking the time to honor Latine Heritage Month and this talented community of artists!

The painting features an array of colorful flowers around a bottle containing soil and a butterfly. (3) A view from behind Isa as the Governor enters the gallery space, waving and smiling.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see Dede Decker's wonderful solo exhibition last Thursday! 💖 It was a lovely reception, and Dede was over the moon to share her most recent pieces with her friends and family.

This project was supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts

Join us this Saturday, August 15, from 10 am - 4 pm for a Trunk Show with Yousha Tighe! 🌿🐛

Shop thoughtfully designed and beautifully made linocut printed shirts, bags, and more in this special one-day Trunk Show. Yousha’s works invite viewers to appreciate the character and unique beauty in the unexpected and overlooked.

Yousha Tighe is a prolific illustrator and printmaker who has a dedicated studio practice at Fresh Eye Arts, a progressive art studio located in East St. Paul. Her surrealist paintings and original linocut relief prints feature rich personal symbolism and folklore exploring advocacy for systemically marginalized groups, social justice, the way in which we perceive each other and the world.
