《Scraps》feat. Bittersweet, bell pepper, ming fern.
I picked these scraps from an earlier mock-up out of the trash. Shook off some grit. The sprigs were still in perfectly good condition. Just a little tired at the ends.

Today, a lovely walk-in customer asked how long we’d been around. “Five years this November,” I said with a smile.

“Were you always here?”

My mind went back to the tiny shared room where we started in Pearl’s Hill. Then our flower cave on Level 7 of Midview where sunlight was a myth. And finally, to this beautiful space we’ve called home for the past year. Three little dots on a timeline that felt like the rapids.

“We’ve been here a year now, downstairs. Love the sunshine,” I said, surprised to hear the catch in my own voice. Why was I tearing up? Keep it together, Clare.

I sat there stretching four stems across three bud vases for her, trying to make every flower count. Because I know what it’s like to work with a budget. And because having less to work with doesn’t mean having less beauty. It shouldn’t.

——

I felt my shoulders ease as I wove the bittersweet stems together and smiled when I saw how the peppers held their chins high.

There is still beauty to be had.
There is still beauty to be shared. 💛

At Friday’s Garden, our Omakase Signature Director’s Cut is an invitation to leave the final curation of flowers in our hands.

We love hearing your preferences for colour, mood and blooms you may wish to avoid. But unlike a bespoke order, Omakase gives us the creative freedom to choose the flowers and how to weave them into unique creations, rather than working from a specific list of blooms or stem counts.

Flowers are seasonal and even the best-laid plans can change, especially when handling living things. We make thoughtful substitutions when needed, always honouring the aesthetic and value of your order.

✨By embracing the spirit of Omakase, you’re also helping us nurture our creative instincts and experimental nature as a studio — and perhaps you’ll discover a flower you’d never have chosen for yourself, only to find how beautiful it looks in unexpected company. 🥰

I reckon it’s a little like life xx A little trust can lead to wonderful surprises 😉🌱💛

What an incredible evening. ✨

On 30 September 2026, we officially launched DIPG Alliance — a vision inspired by three extraordinary little girls, Natasha, Katelyn and Mishaal, and a shared commitment to creating a better future for children diagnosed with rare brain cancers.

We were honoured to have Minister Indranee Rajah join us as our Guest of Honour, alongside an amazing community of doctors, researchers, partners, family and friends.

Through our flagship KIND Programme at KKH, we are working to bring promising clinical trials and new treatment options to Singapore and the region.

The evening was a celebration of hope, collaboration and what we can achieve when people come together with a common purpose.

Three little girls. Three families. One promise. And a community determined to make a difference.

Here are some highlights from a truly memorable evening.

This is only the beginning. 💙

Last week we came together to celebrate Ronald Stride’s 17 years of remarkable leadership.

As a steady guiding light for Food from the Heart, he stood tall (literally and figuratively) as an unwavering source of hope and resilience, growing the charity from a small organisation to what it is today.

Thank you for always leading with heart, Chairman Ron ❤️

Do you want the house tour? Built our dream midcentury modern, LA-inspired home. We used lots of dark mahogany wood, rich textured fabrics, warm colours, classic patterns and fun accent lights. So so lucky to be able to live in this beautiful space!

Plating a feast before the feast: featuring beehive ginger, lotus pods, slipper orchids, a flurry of nerines and a constellation of echinops breaking free from ever watchful scabiosa. 🪐🌱💛

I love styling tablescapes — thankful to clients who trust me with an open brief, sharing their home as canvas; as an artist there is no greater gift.

A night of hope, remembrance and new beginnings. 💙

You made The Natasha Promise possible.

Together, we raised S$150,000 in close to 72 hours — which Natasha’s parents and DIPG Alliance co-founders, Linda and Johnson Loo, matched dollar for dollar in her memory, as part of The Natasha Promise. That’s S$300,000 for the KKH KIND Fund.

These vital funds will support the @kkh.sg Integrated Neuro-Oncology Development (KIND) Programme, helping to advance paediatric brain cancer research and build greater access to clinical trials for children with DIPG and other childhood brain tumours, right here in Singapore.

To everyone who stood with us at the launch, donated, shared our story or helped us reach this first milestone: thank you.

But The Natasha Promise was never meant to be the end.

It was a promise to begin. The fundraising continues. The work continues. And so does the hope. All made possible by the enduring legacy of Natasha, Katelyn and Mishaal.

If you would like to support what comes next, you can donate, share our story or simply help us spread awareness. Help us bring light to rare brain cancer. 💙

A promise is now a movement. 💙

On 30 Sep 2026, we officially launched DIPG Alliance — born from the lives and legacies of Natasha, Katelyn and Mishaal, and from a promise to keep their fight going.

We are deeply honoured to have had Minister Indranee Rajah join us as our Guest of Honour, alongside doctors, researchers, fellow DIPG families, partners, donors, friends and supporters — all brought together by one shared belief: Children diagnosed with DIPG and other childhood brain tumours deserve more.

More research. More treatment options. More time. More hope.

To everyone who stood with us that night: thank you. 💙 Now, the work begins.

One of the first ways you can stand with us is through the KIND Fund at @kkh.sg, supporting paediatric neuro-oncology care, research and access to new treatment options for children with brain tumours.

📣 To support this work, please email development@kkh.com.sg for more information.

Every contribution, share and conversation will help us move the promise forward together.

I never imagined flowers would lead me here — to being part of @dipgalliancesg , Singapore’s first foundation dedicated to paediatric brain cancer research.

For me, this is deeply personal.

I love Natasha. I’m good friends with her mum, Linda, and our kids grew up together.

So when Linda and her family, together with the families of Mishaal and Katelyn, chose to turn the loss of their children into something that could change the future for other children, I wanted to help in whatever way I could.

That has meant reaching beyond flowers and drawing on an earlier part of my life in branding and creative direction — simply contributing what I know how to do.

But it is the founders who have worked tirelessly to bring people together around this cause: parents, doctors, researchers, friends, creatives and donors. People from completely different worlds, each bringing what they can to move research forward for children.

And that has always been what a garden means to me. You cultivate with intention. Different things take root. They grow alongside each other. And you hope that what grows can nourish, shelter and strengthen those around it.

I could never have known this is what we were tilling the ground for. But I know why we are here.

For Natasha, Mishaal and Katelyn.

And for every child we hope will have more time to grow.

Please follow @dipgalliancesg and the work they are beginning. 💛🌱💙
