Gladiator Gaming - TEAMS Sept 2026
26-27.09.26

Only a few weeks settled in to my new home, Brisbane AUS 🇦🇺, and already finding myself at one of Brisbane's major 40k teams events, G.LADS!

With the help of Josh McGowan, T.O of the event, we managed to scrum up a last minute team of Mercenaries, appropriately naming ourselves 'Mercs R Us', and with myself as Captain to lead the team 🙌💥

Our line-up consisted of;
• (C) Luca - Thousand Sons - Priority Assets
• Sam - Astra Militarum - Reconnaissance
• Luke - Orks - Reconnaissance
• Will - Space Marines - Take & Hold
• Josh - Aeldari - Disruption
• Nick - Sisters of Battle - Purge the Foe

📍Round # 1 vs Jaye, Custodes - WIN [18-2]
- Fantastic game into Jaye and his golden lads. This was a green match up for me from the start, with Jaye not experiencing Tsons before, so I handed him a (fun) exhibition of the army 😜

📍Round # 2 vs Memphis, Tyranids - WIN [13-7]
- My first run into the triple Mawloc build, and I eventually got to see it's synergy unfold! Tremendous amount of mortals via ingress, getting around my invul saves, however after the big go-turn, it fell relatively flat and I was able to finish the job 🔥

📍Round # 3 vs Jake, Grey Knights - WIN [12-8]
- It was the battle of the snapbacks! 🧢 Another relatively green match up for me given my psychic defence, however Jake played a superb game to claw back a great deal of points with his lone models uppy downy to secure solid late game points!

📍Round # 4 vs Jye, Necrons - DRAW [10-10]
- This was an epic stalemate. You'd think killing 40+ necron warriors and 10+ destroyers would do something - nope. Reflecting over the game my target prioritisation could have been better to whittle down the regeneration, but an awesome game nonetheless!

📍Round # 5 vs Alex, Custodes-Sisters - LOSS [8-12]
- My single poor pairing, what I thought was a fair match up was in fact a complete RED for me 😅 when your army is psychic going into an anti-psyker army, can only expect it to go one way haha. Gorgeous army & conversions, this was a joy to play into despite the defeat!

A fantastic event, superbly run with exceptional sportsmanship all round!! 🎉

🙏 Appreciation post - BIG UPS to my team mate, and legend @sg_paintsminis (Aidan) for his incredible work on my Magnus, The Red.

Great deal of work was involved to restore this gorgeous model to its rightful stature befitting for a Primarch, and I would like to say a massive THANK YOU for all the efforts pulled into this project 🙌

Now I can run this (& Superb!) centrepiece to lead my new Thousand Sons to war and lay waste to all of Tzeentch's enemies! 🪄

So Let’s summarise this weekend at Bolton areas
It was an amazing event with (some) great opponents

@barlow040

Round 1(redacted) let’s not even talk about it 😂
(Loss)

Round 2
After a rough round I was feeling pretty down but somehow paired into one of the highlights of my weekend! We paired into @friendlyfire40k Luca to be precise! And what a game it was! Some marine on marine action. He didn’t realise that Infact of facing the the T4 marine list he initially thought he Infact soon realised it was 11 tanks and enough infantry to count on 2 hands 😂 I squeezed out a victory after a tough game and had a blast! Score 94-71

Round 3

I paired into Richie from TFG for a very good game! The knight list proved difficult to kill after I literally miss played and gave him my warlord so his whole army got 5+fnp🤦‍♂️😂 but somehow managed to sneek a slight win! Score 78-75

Round 4 paired into a guard… 5 rogal dorns 1 basilisk and canix Rex 😂 it was another uphill battle after wiffing turn after turn and my opponent rolling 4+ saves with his dorns 🤦‍♂️ but turn 4 kicked in and I just slapped his whole army in the back 2 turns… it was a weird change in the game… I couldn’t hit with 3’s in 3 turns with re rolls coming out of everything… and then in just bang 4 dorns in one shot… I was miles behind and somehow turned it into a win… score 81-79

And finally round five when I got @lewissalter92 what a fantastic opponent. I enjoyed every second! It was absolute brutal. After getting a good pair up. It was bright for me from turn 1 but Lewis wouldn’t let me just roll over him. He put up a good battle untill the last dice roll! And on the note this guys dice are somthing to be seen 😂 this dudes dice need to be locked in a chest… Set on fire…And what ever remains needs to me scattered at sea because somehow a vindicator survived 3 rounds of combat with a demon prince untouched and the final blow was when I left it on 1 wound in my shooting phase and went into the fight phase…. And I got 1 wound through and he rolled a 1 to kill it and with 0 CP he fell 😂 I’ve never see someone roll so poor in all my 40k games. It was an amazing game and such a gent to play against!

Had a blast with the team at Kingdom Wargames this weekend. Three great opponents and a great venue, what more could you want? Learned a lot about playing the new Death Guard codex too by bringing my random mishmash.

• As of the passing weekend (1st & 2nd March 2025), I have acclaimed the ITC No.#1 ranking for Black Templars in all of the United Kingdom, and 3rd place across the World 🔥 despite the Black Templars faction running a 33% win rate 😂💪 •

To say I am super chuffed is perhaps an understatement. Will see how long I can hold the title, or potentially clench the no.1 global ranking 👀 Let's GO! ⚔️
