5 years ago today, I captured one of, if not my best photograph of all time (Slides #2 & 3) I have never seen a storm quite like this one in San Diego and is a night that I will never forget. Fingers crossed that this fall brings something similar! 🤞🏻⚡️🌩️

Photography and time lapses get me overly stoked for clouds that most people would just drive past and not even notice. One situation that brought this to my attention was when I pointed them out to a coworker and was super hyped about it and he was like oh…yeah, okay lol

The way I see it, there’s only 2 perks of the brutal heat that we’ve had this summer. Warm ocean water and CLOUDS!

The final chapter.

Ten years ago, Official California Detailing started with a van, a lot of long days, and a belief that if we took care of people and obsessed over the work, we could build something special.

What OCD has become today is bigger than detailing cars.

It’s the customers who trusted us with their vehicles. The people who recommended us to their friends and family. The employees who put their name behind our work. The mentors who helped along the way. And everyone who has supported this business through every version of it.

There have been plenty of highs, plenty of hard seasons, and a whole lot of lessons over these 10 years.

But I wouldn’t trade the journey.

To everyone who has been part of OCD since 2016 — thank you.

Our team. Our customers. Our friends in this industry. And everyone who has trusted us with their vehicles, referred a friend, left a review, or supported OCD over the years.

This part of the story is about the people and relationships behind the business — because none of this gets built alone.

If you’ve been to any shows around San Diego in the past few years, there is a good chance you have seen Teresa gliding around the dance floor. I had first met at @quartyardsd and immediately she stood out with her unique and skilled style of dance.

After seeing her at several other events around SD, I really began to take notice and after having a conversation with her, I knew I had to give her a microphone. Little did I know, she already has a massive following on TikTok and is a certified local legend, especially with the Gen Z crowd.

This is just a quick clip from a longer interview that I’ve been working on.

What started as a mobile detailing business has grown into something I probably couldn’t have fully pictured back then — a full-service San Diego detailing shop specializing in paint correction, ceramic coatings, paint protection film, window tint, and everything in between.

There have been a lot of long days, mistakes, changes, risks, lessons, and plenty of obsessing over the smallest details along the way. 😂 But looking back, I wouldn’t change much of it.
