The Law Of FM 119. Songs by and for Indigenous, Native, First Nation, and "Aboriginal" peoples. I shouldn't be surprised that my SJW tendencies come from an honest and personal place. Bearing witness in real time to the annihilation of a people, a culture, a land in other places on the planet has quickened my awareness to what was done *here* hundreds of years ago in the guise of "exploration" that became exploitation in the name of "nation building" here on Turtle Island. It's gutting and horrendous that we built over so much...LIFE.

And WE did this. Our legacy is the permanence of things that are useless. Things that don't belong. Words that don't register as true. Death and destruction as policy. Goddamn...WHY? HOW? We're living in a world of angry ghosts and furious gods, walking on mass graves, sleeping on bones and ashes. That's a painful knowledge to bear.

Today marks one year since the release of the album 'BEAR' and this label's inaugural collaboration with Nashville duo FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS 💪

Working with Buick and Jerry was a bit of a stylistic departure for this label, but we could not be happier with the tremendous response to this record among our longtime followers, nor more gratified by the band's unwavering dedication to spreading their music in every conceivable way 💙🎸🤘 Their Herculean commitment doesn't go unnoticed, especially their tireless efforts to deliver what they do on the road, and there's no doubt that they've made countless new converts over the past year.

If you dig the likes of Torche, Cave-In, Moon Destroys, even early Smashing Pumpkins and you haven't spent time with 'BEAR' yet, we can't encourage you enough. This is driving, dark yet hopeful heavy rock with serious themes and titanic hooks, and we can't wait to see what these guys do next.

And be sure to catch them live at their remaining fall tour dates and see them deliver this record's brilliance firsthand!

Kind of a weird tour, to be honest. While there were some truly great shows, musical experiences, and human connections, there was other shit, too. Injuries, confusing dynamics, rude comments, absence of camaraderie where it usually exists, and lack of clarification / support when I asked for it. Grateful to the people who came out and were present to the music, as that’s the place where I feel most heard in this life. And as for the rest? I’m thinking on it.

Also, it was difficult to be touring during so many cultural reckonings (all with their own accompanying apathies and insensitivities, of course). I’m a survivor. Lonely time. Appalling time. Angering time.

Meanwhile, I know women are expected to deliver the Good News under all circumstances, to present solutions even under duress, but I’m not playing along. Things are hard. If people want Good News, they should contribute to a culture where Good News is possible.

Here are some brief bright spots on what was easily the most strained tour of 2026 for me. Big love to the light holders.
