HAPPY DAYS OF THE DEAD MONTH!!! 🎃💀

Proud to announce the winner of our ANTI-AI contest: Carlo Biava! His design will be the official poster for the Days of the Dead Festival, and he wins $100.

So many talented submissions, all made without AI. Proof that artistry is not dead.

Thanks to everyone who submitted, and cheers to all our Days of the Dead Festival participants!

This festival is a celebration of independent theatre and performance. A celebration of life and death, Days of the Dead is a festival inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos. During this time of year the dead return to earth to spend time with their families and enjoy their favorite things. It can be cheerful, sad, nostalgic, ritualistic and mysterious. It’s all about the family and the community.

The festival is running October 16th – November 1st and will be offering shows that have death and the afterlife as a theme as well as Halloween themed plays. We welcome everyone regardless of their cultural background or religious beliefs to celebrate our muertos together.

Come watch beautifully dark and spooky plays at St. Marks Theatre from October 16 to November 1.

Alright y’all, we have a CRAZY week ahead so strap in;

NEW YORK, NY - Howdy neighbors! I’m back in the East Village on Wednesday, 9/16 for FRIGID Nightcap’s BOTTOMS UP night! Although I’m not known for *those* assets necessarily, this night is a tribute to those of us running the world yet struggling to get by. Show starts at 9:30 PM ;)

STARTFORD, CT - It’s time for TEA WITH TANGO with @vienna_tango and @xochapstick! I’ve always preferred tea to coffee anyway… which is perfect because Vienna has curated a cast of LIVE SINGERS to perform for you all in-between screaming at your bingo cards :) 50% of proceeds go to supporting the Stratford Animal Center. Only at @opendoortea 🍵

NEW HAVEN, CT - @vienna_tango and @thatqueerbastard have graciously agreed to join me for another edition of SULTRY STORY HOUR @v0lume_tw0 - we’re trying b a different format this round! This month, I’ll be reading the CLASSICAL My Chemical Romance/wizard boy [I’m not say the franchise name, ifykyk] fanfiction that would’ve sent your 13 year old self spiral; but don’t worry! We’ll have a smattering of emo music to heal you in between passages AND a purge the closet sale from the performers! The show is free but our performers still need help paying rent in this economy 😅 consider bringing cash for tipping and shopping

NEW HAVEN, CT - I am SO excited to join @eastrockporchfest for another set this year! I’ll be on the mic @lawrencestreetplaza singing my little heart out this year- AND there will be other incredible bands and music artists lining the streets of East Rock as well! Truly a magical experience, get out there and support local music 💕

NEW LONDON, CT - @jamesburkenl and I are collaborating on a TOAST TO DOLLY night on 9/25! 36% of your cover charge will be sent straight to Dolly’s @imaginationlibrary! We’ll have live music, drag, and burlesque all paying homage to the Queen herself ✨

Ars Artis (and Shana Tova to those who celebrate!)
