The most common thing we hear from parents is:

“I think they’re too young to see an orthodontist.”

The surprising part is that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7.

Not because every child needs braces at 7, but because some issues are much easier to identify and correct while a child is still growing.

Many children who visit our office never need treatment right away. We simply monitor growth and make sure everything is developing properly.

The goal is not early braces.

The goal is early information.

If your child has never had an orthodontic evaluation, now may be the perfect time to schedule one.

Yes, teeth can move even after braces or aligners. The good news is most of the reasons are preventable. The biggest one is simple: not wearing your retainer. Grinding your teeth, chewing hard objects, worn out retainers, and natural changes in your jaw can all slowly shift teeth over time.

The bottom line is simple. Braces move teeth. Retainers keep them there.
