POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There are few songs that carry the emotional weight of Lily & The Moon for me, this is as perfect as a song can get in my mind. Jacob’s soft vocals extended into amplified projection and the scream towards the middle, the bass work and drums forming a thumping heart to the song, and the guitar reverberating the air and driving home the feelings of the song. I hope others can connect to this song as I have.

Intro riff to Onisma by @friisson.band - thought this was a good first video since I know to play it 😅.

🎸 @element.guitars Torche.

The riff is in Drop B tuning for some of that low-end with some odd meter action - 8/8 and 7/8 with the ambient clean guitar playing 4/4 floating on top.

6 More Obscure bands you Need to listen to!
The first part to this post was cool to put out there so I think I’ll continue doing it for the foreseeable future, here’s some hidden gems to enjoy.

Temple of Thieves is a band my friend recommended to me after I groomed him into becoming a Tool fan and YouTube music gave him an offering in the form of Temple of Thieves- Parasite which he forwarded to me. The band gives me early Tool vibes and for some reason, divorced parent music and a little bit of Drowning Pool. But their first and only album (sadly) “Passing Through the Zer0s” is a beautiful and emotional heavy album. The singer also super reminds me of Maynard during the Undertow/Early Ænima era.

Friisson is a band that I’ve been eagerly awaiting an album release for a few years now, but What they have out now is really cool and when their album finally does come out it’ll be awesome. The music is progressive metal with an ambient/psychedelic/ethereal edge to it

Recoil is another band the same friend mentioned previously recommended to me and it fucks. Hard. Really interesting and upfront bass, definitely reminds me once more of Tool with the vocals and bass primarily but also Deftones with some screaming in the first song on the album, Hypoxia which sounds very Chino-ish. Well worth diving into.

Acroma is a band I found through Tempul as the song “Orbitals” (featured here) was recommended beneath a Tempul song on YouTube. The album (also called Orbitals) is really really solid with some cool heavier stuff and some nice acoustic/lighter songs. Really seems like a good road trip album.

Uneven Structure is a band I haven’t gotten into much but I was drawn in because of the band being recommended for The Contortionist fans, and the album covers are beautiful. Really really cool guitar work and vocals. I’ve only listened to the album Februus so far but it’s beautiful.

Lastly but not least there’s Last Chance to Reason. Really interesting band with a very cool digital/electronic metal sound.

“Etterath” — the newest single by Friisson — is out now on all platforms!

After a lot of hard work, I’m proud to share this piece with you. A musical journey exploring the emptiness that follows the end of a long, difficult road — and the personal loss that lingers in its wake. Settle in and let the journey unfold.

Also worth mentioning that this is our first track with @seandundas.and.friends on drums.

Produced and engineered by @erockomania
