I knew pattern placement was going to be really important when using this fabric so I decided avoiding the project altogether was the best option??? 🙈

In all seriousness I have definitely been in a funk the last few months and it straight up felt like too much bandwidth to puzzle this out. Luckily, I semi got my shit together because this shirt came out exactly how I hoped it would. Plus, I was even able to squeeze a pair of house shorts out of the leftovers.

This is the Jenna Shirt from Closet Core, which I've made a few times now. I previously made the size M and wanted a more oversized fit so this is actually the XL which is exactly the kind of relaxed fit I wanted. I did remove 7/8 inch from the sleeve as they were way too long on a previous project. Also, due to the sheerness of the fabric I did not want to deal with trying to line up a back yoke/have the print show through so I cut the back pieces as one and used French seams for the interior. I think I've finally made enough button up shirts to qualify as decent because I didn't even need to open the instructions this time around -- something that made me inordinately proud. 😅

Shorts are the Casey boxers, modified to have a simple center front seam (no faux fly) and longer side seam splits. I omitted the pockets due to fabric constraints.

Anyways, I screamed, cried, and threw up when I first saw this fabric earlier in June so I'm really stoked I could finally bring this to life!
