NHC60. 💛

the majority of the world see a 2 day event across bank holiday weekend in west London. A lot of us in this thread have been living and breathing this year’s carnival for the past 365 days.

every year it just feels so refreshing to see Caribbean culture be preserved in such a beautiful way on the road, with the costumes, jouvert, sound systems, jab jab, the takeovers, the rum, the after parties and people traveling near and far to be there.

it was an honour to lead and oversee 4 projects across NHC this year, and I’m thankful that everyone had their phones out this weekend because I barely took any pictures 😭 (those projects I’ll speak about at some point, I’ve got a backlog of things to post but trust and believe we’ve been working like DOGS lol)

a massive shoutout to @antheatheehudson for holding it down, and being the best assistant director of NHC. no one sees the grit, the ongoing conversations, the countless phone calls, the lengths you go to, to ensure the public, your staff + team are safe. it was an honour to work with the NHC team again this year across so many projects + thank you so much for trusting me to be a part of it 💛

the BEST team I could ever ask for, shoutout Rita, Tope, Maryam, Chloe, Mabel, Charlie, Pete, Tanya, Savannah, the fantastic stewards and amazing security team that kept the public and us safe!

Until next year. I’ll find a way to be in a costume because I keep falling on my knees. Everyone that played mas on Monday looked BEAUTIFUL 😭💛

Some of my shots from a test shoot with the Pentax 6x7. I have to say the quality of medium format film is just amazing, and the 105mm lens gets incredible background separation. Only downside is that it feels like I’m lugging around a cast iron skillet.

My favourite quick sketches from last weeks @crystal_palace_lifedrawing hosted @londonschoolofvisualarts . The last pose was great fun! I have had such a foreshortened on in a while, swipe for a 10 and a 5 minute pose.
