ADDUCTOR-RELATED GROIN PAIN 🦿

Picked up a bit of a groin niggle after introducing some speed work recently.

Turns out I haven’t given my adductors enough exposure to load on length running in a straight line at 1 speed (slow).

I’ll be keeping things pretty easy for the next week or two while maintaining my running mileage.

📈📈

Here’s some of the isometric/isotonic work I’m starting with in the early-mid stages.

Along with Liam demonstrating a few later-stage rehab options that incorporate more speed and power.

These are the sorts of progressions we’d commonly use with our footy players where groin-related injuries are common with the amount of cutting and COD involved in the sport.

Not demonstrated are the compound and accessory lifts at the trunk and hip, which would be included as part of an individualised rehab program.

Give them a crack and see how you go!

Steve Gravina joins the team to discuss all things sports physiotherapy, from working with the West Coast Eagles to helping endurance athletes get back to doing what they love.

We explore what elite sport teaches you about injury prevention, performance and recovery, why personalised rehabilitation matters, and how to get the most out of your body without breaking it in the process. We also get into the realities of endurance training, common mistakes athletes make, and what it really takes to come back stronger after injury.

As always, told with our special blend of the truth, exaggeration and a large smothering of hilarious stories that have got us here..

Absolute weapon @ethan_stirrat in for a tune up.

Good luck with running 60km daily for 6 days, in prep for the quickest lap of Australia.

Always happy to help endure a bit of pain, for a long term reward.

HORIZONTAL > VERTICAL when it comes to acceleration 💨💨

We want to be moving forwards as fast as possible, pushing the ground away behind us.

To do this, we need to be lower to the ground, in one line from the head down.

Share this video with someone who needs to improve their acceleration.
