WHO OWNS THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES?

That was the question.

And the conversation was 🔥.

Honored and humbled to moderate @mondo.nyc + @guildofmusicsupervisors alongside the legendary Motown and music master, Paul Riser Sr., @ronaspaulding, and Jeffery Thennisch as we unpacked the realities of music ownership, catalogs, sync, rights, and legacy.

Because making great music is only part of the story.

Who owns it?
Who controls it?
Who benefits from it?
And what happens to it generations later?

That’s the work.

At @frshsonx, we believe legacy music deserves more than nostalgia. It deserves strategy, protection, new opportunities, and new life.

Big love to the MONDO.NYC team and my business partner @celestedebro for making this conversation happen.

The music lives on.
Now let’s make sure the value does too.

Legacy deserves longevity. And catalogs deserve to work. 🎶

Honored to be part of @mondo.nyc 2026!

At @frshsonx , we’ve been fortunate to recently work with the legendary Paul Reiser Sr., and we’re excited to bring elements of those conversations to the Guild of Music Supervisors stage at MONDO.

We’ll be diving into how legacy artists, estates, and rights holders can properly leverage and monetize their catalogs through sync — from film and television to advertising and beyond.

Big shout to Jeffrey Thennisch and Ron A. Spaulding for bringing their expertise to the table.

See you in Brooklyn! 🗽🎵

@frshsonx and our partners @openonsundayofficial teamed up with @downtownmemphis , @hennessy, and @wdiamemphis to present the first listen of the @bbkingofficial Lucille Talks Back 50th Anniversary album to the world. The New Daisy Theater, in the heart of Beale St, was the epicenter for a special celebratory event — part party, part networking experience, and part concert. The event was hosted by WDIA’s Bev Johnson and featured guests including David Porter and BB King’s family as well as live performances by @annnesby (Sounds of Blackness), @therealcamanthony (The Voice S20), and @angelstreetmemphis , all backed by the incredible The Marcus Malone Band (@maloneboy). The evening created an immersive celebration not only of the music, but of B.B. King’s life, legacy, and the indelible mark he has left on Memphis and the world.

Full circle moment for me: Long ago I assisted on a BB King recording session while working at Clinton in NYC. It was a simple setup, and BB made the day easy. Needless to say I was a bit starstruck.

Now many, many years later I’ve had the honor of working with the King Estate on the immersive mixes for this 50th Anniversary Tribute to BB’s album, “Lucille Talks Back”. I’m forever grateful to Mr. King’s influence on me as a musician and producer - and it’s an privilege to say thank you thru this project.

Special thanks to @jasonkingsland for partnering on this project with me, @celestedebro and @frshsonx for the opportunity to work with BB’s music once again.

And this work wouldn’t be possible without my home base of @tweedrecording. Onward and upward.

Fifty years of @bbkingofficial Lucille Talks Back. One great conversation on @wsbtv to honor it. Getting to represent @frshsonx alongside the incomparable @averysunshine — talking about something bigger than any of us — felt like full circle energy. Black Music Month may be ending, but the music never stops. @lucilletalksback drops EVERYWHERE June 26, with @openonsundayofficial standing right beside us. Legacy in motion. 🎸✨
