If this trail wasn’t such a royal pain in the ass to get to, I’d do it every year.

Northern California’s Lost Coast Trail earned its mysterious sounding moniker for its extreme, rugged isolation. Back when the now infamous Pacific Coast Highway was being designed, highway planners surveyed the harsh terrain and surveyed and surveyed some more...until they ultimately threw up their hands in defeat.

Ironically, they determined, this place was too wild to tame. The highway was rerouted inland, leaving this coastal stretch inaccessible and “lost” to development. But not to adventure.

Much like the Three Musketeers, Van Gogh, Dip and I unsheathed our hiking poles and ventured into a land where the mountains tumble ass over face into the sea and the tide charts matter more than trail smarts or pack weight.

Our poles click-clacked against the buttery smooth sea stones as we traced the narrow margin between bluff and sea-timing our passage with the rhythm of the tides and bearing in mind this “quest” would be dictated not by us alone but by the land itself.

Despite its indifferent, devil-may-care aura, I love this trail to infinity and beyond.

A moment you can almost hear—

Every time I look at this I’m brought back to Lauren & Joe’s day, last June. You can almost hear the cheers, the “congratulations!” hugs, and the loud, happy claps from their friends celebrating them tying the knot. It’s the kind of photo that captures the emotion and memory so good, you’ll feel like you’re right there— even 20 years from now. These are the moments I love to capture.

These photos will always be extra special, not only because they capture the love between Lauren and Joe on their wedding day, but also because it was my first time shooting film for someone else. At the time, I had just begun learning and was shooting for fun— hoping one day I’d get the chance to photograph a couple in this way. Then, one day last June it did. This day ignited my passion for wanting to turn this hobby into something more meaningful. Being able to document moments of love for others to cherish forever brings me so much joy. 🤍🎞️🌴💍💒

Sneak peek from my first impromptu wedding shoot 🙈

I had the honor of last minute getting to join this beautiful couple downtown at the civil marriage office and capture moments from their special day. 💍

I had been wanting to test my ability and do a shoot like this for a while now, and I’m so happy they allowed me to do so.
Can’t wait to share the rest of this set & all the beautiful moments.❤️

First 4.5 days in O’ahu and I’ve already lost track of how many beaches I’ve been to. Which I’d say is a very good problem to have. 🌞🌊🌺
