Genesis Sun are proud to have supported young people as part of the Young Lives, Young Futures project. Alongside Journey to Justice, King’s College London and The Edge Foundation their voices came to life through a powerful film and an original song, created, performed and owned by young people themselves.

Check out an extract of the film, directed by filmmaker Tomasz Wierzbianski investigating how 50 per cent of young people in England who don’t go to university can be better supported through education-to-work transitions 🎶🎬

✨ What a year it’s been for Genesis Sun Foundation. ✨

2025 has been a year of growth, connection and possibility, not just for the charity, but for the young people at the heart of everything we do. It’s also been special to witness the continued journey of Isaac Paris , whose creativity and passion were part of the original inspiration behind Genesis Sun, and therefore wonderful to see him volunteer time to grow our connections and help shape our youth mission this year.

We’re deeply grateful for our incredible community of young people who continue to show up, share their voices and shape the future we’re building together. Supporting their confidence, creativity and life chances remains our driving force.

Thank you to our grant funders and donors for your continued belief in our work and your generosity. Your support enables us to keep creating opportunities and meaningful change.

Here’s to everything still to come in 2026, we can’t wait to share the next chapter with you. 💫

We’ve leant developing creativity and listening to our community is key 🔑

🌟 An unforgettable day at the House of Lords! 🌟

Yesterday, we had the honour of joining a Parliamentary reception at the House of Lords with our young community as part of the Young Lives, Young Futures (YLYF) project.

Through our Genesis Sun and Journey to Justice partnership, our young researchers—contributors to the six-year study led by King’s College London and the Edge Foundation—shared their voices in parliament. The event, led by Professor Sharon Gewirtz and Rana Khazbak, brought together policymakers, educators and advocates to discuss the study’s findings.

🎶 Coinciding with the event, our group Young Lives United (Isaac, Maureena, Jemima & Damaris) released “We Need Change,” a powerful song expressing young people’s hopes for a fairer education system. They performed it live at the reception to an inspired and enthusiastic audience.

It was a proud moment to stand alongside our young community, partners, and friends from Genesis Sun, Journey to Justice, CareerSpace, and beyond. Huge thanks to Martin for organising a cultural tour afterwards—ending the day perfectly.

💫 We’re so grateful to Young Lives, Young Futures for their support and belief in our work. This day truly celebrated collaboration, creativity and youth empowerment.

🎬 Here’s a first look!

We’re proud to share the promo reel for “We Need Change”, the powerful debut single by Young Lives United (YLU), dropping this autumn! 🌍🎶

Filmed in May 2025 in Wolverhampton City, Beatsabar and Bank, Wolverhampton, the video was commissioned by the Economic and Social Research Council and brought to life by the brilliant 1709 Productions. The track was born from the Young Lives, Young Futures project, a six-year national research collaboration between King’s College London, Edge Foundation, and Journey to Justice, in partnership with Genesis Sun Foundation.

🎤 Written by the young collective, “We Need Change” gives a youth voice to lived experiences and hope, as they navigate life after education and step into the world of work.

This is just the beginning for Young Lives United, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

🎧 Watch the promo, share the message and follow the journey.
