No joke, it took me years to feel confident with my pole pirouettes. Spending years rotating around my own axis had me struggling to understand how to execute this rotation comfortably. I didn’t do a great job of choosing different language to describe some aspects of this - but hopefully you get the idea that standing upright to stop your forward rotation is different than standing upright *without* your letter D shape tension pull away from the pole. Anywayssss, anyone else struggle with this one early on?

🔗🌲👆 catch me this Thursday at full Circle @fullcircleharlem for my “ STATIC POLE CLASS” were we will continue to play with these ideas .
Which one should we do ?

TOP 👆- forward step up, pull in pole sit, undercut, two handed body spiral, pole sit , ball tuck, spinning lady sit to floor, belly swivel exit

OR
BOTTOM 👇🏻
forward step up, pull in pole sit, undercut, two handed body spiral, Direction change thread through, attitude fan to floor.
of course, we will continue to look at fundamentals of static rotation, opposition, continuing in One Direction, but allowing body orientation changes to happen versus switching directions and body orientation stays the same.
And of course, we will continue to look at stabilizer muscles versus larger superficial muscles.
This is one of my favorite classes to teach, and you could always stay for my level one pole immediately after at 6 PM.
Trust me when I say smart dancers always revisit their foundation so trust me you will be challenged in my level one class even if you are a level five student. I guarantee I can give you a variation to keep you engaged.

The Full Circle x BX Plant Exchange is a cozy fall community event to mingle and share your love of all things plants! There will be hot tea, plant bingo, and opportunities to dance in a mini pole jam!

🌱 Bring clippings and snippings (rooted is great, but not required!), extra soil, pots, and plant tips and tricks.

🪴 Or just come to take home a cutting, sip tea, and chat plants with new friends!

Feel free to invite friends and neighbors to this FREE event! If you’d like to offer something monetary - it will go towards supporting continued community event programming at Full Circle.
