Cathedral of Ruins smells like walking into an old cathedral surrounded by rich woods, seductive incense, and then being wrapped in soft rose and musk. I can't explain how absolutely BEAUTIFUL this new scent from Fulton & Roark is, but you'll just have to try it for yourself.

I don’t just smell HWY 190. I go somewhere.

It’s expansive. It’s evocative. It’s beautifully constructed. And after everything I’ve smelled since, there is still nothing else in my collection that makes me feel quite like this. Note new. Still good. 😊 #perfume #fragrance #smellgood #notnewstillgood #nichefragrance

it’s nearly halloween… 🩸

next up in my lil books/fragrance series: IF MINA HARKER WERE A PERFUME // dracula by bram stoker. her character is mostly in a hazy, lustful trance, so to me, her scent would be just as dreamy & dramatic & darkly feminine, with notes like delicately earthy rose, smoky incense, & rich woods at the forefront. 🕯️🌹🪵

(if you didn’t know, i’m a beauty journalist by day, reviewing product & interviewing celebs & writing about trends when my baby sleeps — though before that, i was a marketer at a fragrance house, writing stories for scent & working alongside some of the most fascinating, artful perfumers. because of it, i’m so passionate about perfume, & of course books)

🦇 what book icon should i do next?

Picking up right where we left off with the @fultonandroark Fulton & Roark Discovery Set!

I filmed this whole fragrance-testing session at once, but there was too much to fit into one video, so we're splitting it into two parts.

Here are the rest of my impressions, with my honest thoughts on the scents I tried.

If you haven't watched Part 1 yet, Go catch that first, then tell me which fragrances caught your attention!

My first gifted fragrance set!

@fultonandroark Fulton & Roark sent me their Discovery Set, and of course, I had to smell everything and give you my honest first impressions.

We're getting into these scents one by one, because you know I'm not about to smell a whole collection and give y'all a two-second review.

This is Part 1 of my discovery-set experience. There's more to smell, so stay tuned for Part 2!

Have you tried Fulton & Roark before? 👀

🇺🇸 Perpetua by Fulton & Roark feels like a breath of fresh coastal air wrapped in smooth woods. Bright neroli and jasmine meet cedar, mahogany, and amber for a scent that feels fresh, polished, and quietly confident.

🇪🇸 Perpetua de Fulton & Roark se siente como aire fresco de la costa mezclado con maderas suaves. El neroli y el jazmín se unen al cedro, la caoba y el ámbar: fresco, elegante y con una seguridad tranquila. ✨
