I wrote this book almost 10 years ago (pre-AI 🤣💪🏼), after spending five years exploring the theme of forgetting for an art installation. I used scent in one part of the exhibit, and it broadly and beautifully changed the course of my creative output. My paintings became looser and bolder, my writing more nuanced, and I credited it all to quietly and continually using scent to explore ideas. This planted seeds to my continued work in scent, art and psychology.

The book was written to invite all creatives to use the power of scent in their work. It continues to be the little blue book that could, offering new perspectives and permission to seasoned perfumers, performance artists, writers and creatives of all kinds to lean deeply into the invisible facets of scent. It has been cited in scientific papers and PhD dissertations, and despite being self-published with no marketing budget, it has been read in 35 countries and is in the libraries (science section) of at least one esteemed university that I know of.

I’m humbled by the continued interest. I simply put my nose in the stream of the collective unconscious and voilà, a tool for creatives was born.

Many thanks to the stockists here for offering my book to their thoughtful, curious and generous communities! And to those who have supported my work on the fringe of art and fringe of perfume, to you I am most grateful. ❤️

Niche perfume houses are sweeping the nation, and I am completely immersed in the fragrance craze. But Portland? Portland might just have the market cornered.
From intimate, beautifully curated shops like Little House Perfumerie, to an old-school Portland original like The Perfume House, to Fumerie—which you can feel the second you walk inside, and trust me, it’s amazing—to the effortlessly chic Marie Marie, Portland’s niche fragrance scene is something special.
If unique, hard-to-find and highly curated fragrances are your thing, Portland absolutely has the answer.

Perfume needs to be a love language. Because it speaks to both of us.#thescentarian #fragrancecommunity #perfume #fragrancejourney #scentmemory

PONTE ETEREO is a collaboration between Tracy Tsefalas of @fumeriepdx and @meofusciuni_parfums If I can sum up in a few words what I love about this perfume, they would be balanced, complex, not overbearing, vividly evocative. This lets you discover the place it wants to take. It doesn’t drag you by overemphasising a specific note. You are eased into the smoke, earthy notes, woods, etc. Tracy Sefalas gave a vivid brief, and Meo Fusciuni brought it to life.
