Lateral step out clean into same leg lunge. Aggressive concentric ughsplode plus fast braking challenge. Delightful.

GOLF STRENGTH THAT TRANSLATES TO THE COURSE
Two landmine movements that build the kind of power, control, and rotation your swing actually needs:

📹 Video 1: Landmine Curtsy Lunge
This movement targets single-leg strength, glute activation, and lateral stability. It mimics the load and shift into your trail leg during the backswing—and the explosive push off during transition. A strong, stable base means more consistent power through impact.

📹 Video 2: Half-Kneeling Landmine Chop
By anchoring the lower body, this drill builds separation between the lower and upper body—a key to creating torque in your swing. The upper body rotates while the lower body stays quiet, training oblique strength and rotational control. This is gold for generating speed without sacrificing stability.

Add these into your weekly routine to build functional, golf-specific strength that shows up when it counts.

Rotational Power = Distance + Control

Two of my go-to moves for building a stronger, more explosive golf swing:
1. Landmine Rotational Clean to 1-Arm Press – Teaching my body to transfer force from the ground up through rotation, while staying stable and connected.
2. Med Ball Side-Facing Slams – Speed and intent, with a focus on keeping my hands at or behind my trail hip—just like in the swing.

This isn’t just about hitting it farther—it’s about loading efficiently, rotating with power, and delivering the club head with precision.

Train with intent. Move like you swing.

Lately, I’ve been really struggling with early extension in my swing—losing my posture and thrusting the hips toward the ball through impact. It’s been a frustrating flaw to deal with, but I’m determined to fix it before the season really gets going.

I’ve been putting in some focused work and wanted to share a few drills I’m using to retrain my movement patterns:
1. SB (Stability Ball) Against the Wall – I’m using this to feel my lead hip staying back through impact. It’s a great visual and physical cue to prevent the hips from driving forward.
2. 1-Arm DB Row w/ Hip Contact – As I row and rotate, I’m keeping my butt—especially the left hip—firmly against the ball. This helps reinforce proper hip rotation and stability.
3. Staggered Stance Impact Drill – I rotate from the downswing into impact, focusing on keeping my left hip back while extending my left knee. This one really helps sync up lower body movement.
4. Back Foot on Wall Drill – This adds another layer of challenge and feedback. I’m working on pushing off the ground, extending the left knee at impact while making sure my lead hip doesn’t slide forward.

These movements have been eye-opening and are slowly starting to translate into better mechanics in my swing. Still a work in progress, but I’m hopeful that with consistency, I’ll clean up the early extension and play some solid golf this season.

If anyone’s battled this issue too, I’d love to hear what helped you the most.
