The return of Christ is not a hidden event. Scripture tells us that every eye will see Him.

This is the hope of the Christian—not that this world will last forever, but that Jesus Christ will return.

So remain faithful.
Keep watch.
Repent.
Stand firm in the truth.
And live each day ready to meet your King.

He came once as the suffering servant. He is coming again in glory.

Even so. Amen. #christisking #endtimes #viral #faithoverfear #dailyverse

Exodus 14:15-23
Bible is not a collection of parables, fabricated stories, or fairy tales. The account of Israel’s deliverance from slavery in Egypt and journey to the Promised Land is a historical event. In Exodus 14, we witness the dramatic climax of Pharaoh’s oppression as his army is swallowed by the Red Sea while the Israelites escape under God’s sovereign hand.

Yet what we see in this account is a pattern that echoes throughout the entirety of Scripture. God makes promises and faithfully keeps them. Even after witnessing His power and provision, people often respond with fear, doubt, and unbelief rather than trust. The Israelites had seen God’s mighty works in Egypt, yet when faced with the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s approaching army, they questioned whether God would deliver them. Nevertheless, God remained faithful and made a way where there seemed to be none.

The story of Exodus is not merely the story of ancient Israel. It is the story of humanity itself. It reveals the weakness and frailty of man in contrast to the power and sovereignty of God. Throughout history, humanity has repeatedly doubted God, resisted His will, and challenged His authority. Yet despite our failures, God remains steadfast in His promises. Just as people questioned God’s power in the days of Moses, many continue to question His authority and sovereignty today. Amen.

Revelation 12:7-9 (KJV)

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 20:1-3 (KJV)

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Psalm 76:7-9 (ESV)
7 But you, you are to be feared!
Who can stand before you
when once your anger is roused?
8 From the heavens you uttered judgment;
the earth feared and was still,
9 when God arose to establish judgment,
to save all the humble of the earth.

Psalm 55:15-19

This passage in Psalm 55 stands strong for the men and women who serve their country and our God today. The wicked may rise, but God stands unmoved. Call on the Lord, and He will hear. Don’t put your strength in men, but in the King who reigns forever. Lord give me strength. Amen

“Follow Me.”
A command. A summons. Words spoken to Matthew the tax collector, as he sat quietly at his booth. Jesus called him with this simple imperative—and Matthew had no idea what that calling would come to mean.

It took nearly three years in the company of Jesus and the other disciples before Matthew openly confessed Him as Lord in his Gospel.

Today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Georgetown, ON, we witnessed that same confession from a young member of our congregation. After two years of catechetical instruction—and an examination yesterday—he publicly confirmed the one, true Christian faith. He also received the body and blood of his Lord Jesus Christ in, with, and under the bread and wine for the first time. For Christ has called him, too, through His Word.

And just like Matthew, this young confirmand does not yet know the struggle that comes with following Jesus. Thus, he was preached that the Christian life is marked by opposition. The devil remains our fiercest enemy. When he sees us drawing near to the Lord’s Table, he prowls around, seeking to devour (1 Peter 5:8). His old tricks remain: whispering doubts, stirring impatience, tempting us to drift from Christ and His gifts.

So, he was urged not to trust his own strength or feelings in such moments, but to cling to the Word of God. And to pray with King David in Psalm 18:3:
“I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I will be saved from my enemies.”

And as Rev. Dr. Martin Luther wrote: "....the Word of God fills the heart with gladness and drives away gloom, sadness, and anxiety."

Therefore, walk in confidence that Christ has called you. And this walk is never solitary; it is lived within the fellowship of believers, just as the apostle Matthew walked with the other disciples and confessed Jesus as his Lord.
Nothing in all creation can separate you from His love.

Ephesians 5:18-21
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
