🌿 My Favorite Fresh Hops of 2026🌿

Sorted by style, these are the most palate pleasing creations of the season that truly blew me away.

It was a better than average season from what I sampled and while there's some obvs bias here, this year, more than ever, I returned again and again to my favorites.

If I completely missed something, feel free to chime in via the comments 🍻

Our final What’s on Tap of the 2026 season is here. One more weekend in the hop field to have another round.

For this weekend, we’ve got a full tap list, food trucks and Yoga & Beer at 11 am Saturday.

We’ll close out the season Sunday, so come grab a last pour and enjoy the hop field while you can.

And fear not, we’re not disappearing for the winter. We’ve got a few off-season events in the works. Stay tuned.

On our way home from our vacation in the Pacific Northwest, @therealfoodieandthebeast , @luna__witch__ , and I stopped in Portland for lunch. There weren’t any breweries with interesting tap lists open nearby yet, so we walked down to @alefirepdx , a public house offering a selection of curated hot sauces, cider, beer, wine, and seltzers.
I expected to sip on a beer while browsing hot sauces, but their beer-to-go selection completely derailed my plan. We ended up getting a bunch of local beers we’d never tried, saving 6 of them for a tasting when we got home.
We had solid sours from @montavillabrewworks and @fermentbrewing (a style we hadn’t found much of on our trip), but our favorite beers were:

@funkyfaunabeer ‘s Venus in Firs (4% abv) and Rabbits Snare (5% abv)- Venus in Firs is a wild ale with blackberries and Douglas Fir tips, fermented in oak. It’s tart and bitter, as you’d imagine, and very authentic-tasting. The pine imitates hops (or is it the other way around?), but doesn’t linger or dominate the flavor.
Rabbits Snare is a porter with coffee, pumpkin, and spices, and some of the coolest, creepiest can art I’ve seen. The flavor starts with coffee and spice bitterness before mellowing into pumpkin and spice sweetness. Yummy autumn goodness.

@baerlicbrewing ‘s Invisible Ghost (10% abv), a Mexican hot chocolate imperial stout. This wasn’t as sweet, and had a lighter mouthfeel than I expected, but was very easy to-drinking for its abv, in part because of the deft use of spices to cover up booziness and keep it from getting too sweet.

If I make it to the Portland area again, I definitely want to visit these breweries.

Sláinte!
