Going international is no new business for us. Here is a glimpse and testimony of the time @charlie_makestuff flew to Malmö, Sweden upon the invitation of Design Form Centre to present his work.

“When I was requested to invite anyone in the world to share a stage with me in a city I got to call home, Charlie was one of the first to come to mind. Not only was he a hard worker but his work showed great talent and skill. He inspired me and I wanted the world to see why!” - Nontokozo (Founder of CSG)

Here he reflects on his experience.

Here are some pre exhibition shots from the group show put together by @layersofcreativity which opened 15 August. We are a few days away from closing and we are just so happy we could share our work on an international stage.

Congratulations to Oratile, Angelo, Anele and Sicelo on your first of many international exhibitions 🥳

This exhibition brings together members from Layers of Creativity (LOC), presenting a selection of practices that reflect the many perspectives, experiences and artistic expressions within our network. The participating members have been carefully selected for this exhibition, each contributing a distinct voice while collectively representing what Layers of Creativity is about: creating space for exchange, experimentation, community and artistic practices that move across cultures, identities and disciplines.

as a station: a site of arrival, departure and temporary inhabitation continuously negotiated through movement, memory, recognition and relation. The station becomes a space in between, where different trajectories intersect and where one can momentarily land without necessarily having arrived. Within this framework, home is understood more as a condition that can be produced, carried, lost and reconstructed.

We international baby!! 🥳🙌🏾☀️

So proud to be introducing some of the most talented and proactive creatives we have grown to know, to our new @layersofcreativity family in Gothenburg.

An exhibition exploring ‘Welcome home’ as a topic, we wanted to think together with LOC around community building and what it means to create spaces that may feel like home to creatives from all walks of life.

The internet has brought all of us closer to each other and we look forward to sharing the Standerton spirit all the way to the vikings in the north.

CSG team got to meet and attend a lecture by the legend @wandalephoto whose work has had great impact on young black creatives since since.

His lecture was about how he weaves identity, fashion and design into his work. He shared about his family’s history and South African history at large, reminding us that they shouldn’t be separated when creating.

Fun fact! He also grew up in Standerton 😎 How cool?!

A mural in Sakhile — a piece of art created to stand the test of time. 🎨
This work is a collection of ideas, passion, and creativity from everyone who took part in this innovative project.

We’ll be activating the mural soon, so stay tuned for more details!

A moment in time of mother and daughter, captured and kept 💌 I really miss shooting portraits. Maybe this is the summer when I find my way back to it... Maybe. Inshaallah. In the meantime, I'll share some oldies from the years that past.

Here’s a look back at our breathwork workshop—a powerful space for meditation, grounding, and reconnecting with ourselves. Guided by @future_of_brown , we explored tools to better understand our bodies and learned intentional breathing techniques to support our well-being.

It was a deeply healing experience—one that helped us slow down, center ourselves, and bring calm to every fiber of our being.
