Tiziano Cruz (@tizianocruzok) will visit London to present a new work as part of CEREMONY and to lead a two-day artist lab exploring periphery-driven art practice.

‘Three Ways of Singing to a Mountain II’ is a performative experience, a journey in which artist Tiziano, a member of the Quechua and Aymara Indigenous communities of northern Argentina, intertwines his own biography with the collective memory of peoples who have been excluded from the great cities.

Through a selection of autobiographical traces, scenic narratives, and political manifestos addressing the art market and class privilege, he invokes the memory of the body and the power of his Andean ancestors, in a desperate attempt not only to quiet the grief over his deceased sister, but also to find a possibility of reconciling with the world.

In a two-day artist lab Tiziano will share practical and theoretical methodologies that insist on political art and collective action.

Together, artists will explore the memory of the body and the territory; the knowledge, voices, and experiences that remain outside of official narratives; and artistic creation as a means to forge connections, challenge existing structures, and transform everyday life.

Tonight at 8pm: Curtain Call. Performance artist @piankamperformance and composer @leo_gchapman discuss upcoming live art ballet performance Curtain Call with Future Ritual producer @reginaabrathwaite, as well as notions of perfection in society, the monstrous feminine, queerness and deconstructing classical forms. They share music, memories and thoughts.

Curtain Call is to be performed on the opening night of CEREMONY Festival on 25th November. For more information visit @futureritual.

Since 2016, Tiziano has been developing a trilogy of works in which he crosses his own biography with the collective memory of the people of the interior of Argentina. This performance lecture is an unfolding part of this ongoing enquiry. LADA Live Art Development Agency.

The presentation forms part of Tiziano Cruz’s relationship with PAV Artist-in-Residence, extending the residency from artistic research and exchange into a live encounter with audiences.

I have a pain body, specifically, chronic pain.

In this performance, 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (2026) — 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕
I brought three layers of pain into the same time and space, drawing on Patrick Wall’s Pain: The Science of Suffering: pain as a lived experience, pain behaviour and display, and observation and interpretation.

The audience in my performance, like the medical professionals during my assessments, could not see my full pain experience. What they could see was how I chose to present my body: my actions, flexibility and movement, language, time, the environment, and the relationships between my body and the world outside it.

The elastic strings created sensation and tension. Through being stretched, they made private pain observable and, in some ways, measurable. The tension between pain and the body was also spread out across the space. The strings attached my body to the walls, pipes, and the bodies of the audience.

The elastic strings repeatedly snapped, but new ones were tied on again.

The audience and my body, my body and the space, were all holding and pulling against one another.

The audience knew that when the tension became too great, the strings between us would snap. The broken strings might whip against my body, or they might hit someone in the audience.

Care, confusion, closeness, distance, uncertainty. I think these were things the audience and I could feel at the same time.

Pain is difficult to communicate and difficult to discuss, but that does not mean communication is impossible. How much distance remains between us in that communication depends on the performance, the time, the space, and the people who are there.

In this performance at @futureritual I experienced a kind of communication and connection with audiences that felt beyond anything I had experienced before.

I hope to bring private pain into more public spaces in the future. And I hope less pain.

n:u invited me into this project while I was developing Mountains and Seas – Song of Today, my collaborative theatre work exploring folklore, movement, language and politics.

My body carries mythologies into the landscape. Through painting and movement, I connect with rock, soil, plants and water, unearthing tensions between belonging, histories of colonialism and the politics of land.

I see live performance as a passionate relationship with me, space, and audiences.

On 20th Sep, I brought 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (2026) — 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕 to their @futureritual performance gathering, ALMANAC. It was a private pain and public display.

Tighten,
Strained,
Broke.

If you were there, you would know.

Not ready to write more about this performance, still digesting. But I missed the feeling of hunger. And I genuinely appreciate the audiences who shared their tenderness and care with me.

London November 11-15th Constructing Phenomena Art Making Workshop is coming back for round 3! Join @micheleoccelli and myself for 5 days of Hypnosis, Lecture Discussions, a measure of Philosophy and theory, Head Trips, Automatism Exercises.

Especially devising for participants currently working on a concept (performance and other art forms including writing) we’d love to unhinge the storyboard and the score! Voice and movement components to be determined! since we’re 6 weeks and change away we wanted to start fleshing this out according to current projects, please apply to @futureritual and hopefully dig in with us in south London ❤️‍🔥🏆🥳

HELP NEEDED WITH TITLE - 🙏 THOUGHTS❓PREFERENCES❓ SUGGESTIONS❓

I’m working on a new durational live work for ‘CEREMONY’ festival of performance art @futureritual (to take place on November 29th at The Copeland Gallery @copelandparkse, Peckham).

The central action will be to take apart and remix the pages of a set of 20 photo-books - The Library of Nations.

Published by Time-Life between 1984 and 1988, in the final years of the Cold War - an era in which NASA scientist James Hansen gave his landmark warning to the U.S. Senate that global 🌐🌏🌎🌍 warming was already underway - only a few years before the internet and digital media would fundamentally reshape everyday life - they offer a glimpse of a world on the cusp of transformation.

I am fascinated by a tension revealled in the text and images between: a sense of continued momentum towards a rational, prosperous and unified global order; the ways in which hindsight positions them within a deeply colonial system whose structures and beliefs were already beginning to collapse; and the accelerating social injustices and climate challenges of today.

I’m struggling to come up with a title - in the running are

‘WORLD / WhORLED/ WHIRLED’
‘Cosmolysis’ - meaning world unmixed
‘A Spectral Atlas’
‘Unaligned Atlas’
‘Solvere’ - meaning untie
