Iron Spider v12 🕸️

Somehow managed a top on this after a long session on a handful of boulders before this. after @futurewatt figured out all the beta and sent in like 10 minutes I tried hard and got it done

Technically the finish is out left on a cliff beside it but I thought that was dumb since it’s still a drop off but introduces a second boulder and no new difficulty. Rad climb regardless

Arta season is in full swing and has been getting lots of traction this summer. Utah’s best pseudo-alpine zone offers some sick Uintah stone and a respite from the heat of SLC.
-
Chris Watts (@chris4518) AKA King Chuff has been on a recent development tear, adding a few dozen great looking lines to the area, including this one: Heart of the Pack
-
The shoulder move is claimed to be the hardest individual move in the zone. Chris called it V10, though the second and third ascentionists Matt (@desantis.matthew) and Alexander (@futurewatt) upgraded it to V11 and 12 respectively.

Whatever it is—it looks like a lot of fun to us!!

Death Song v13 ⚰️

All established lines on this boulder in just a week! So psyched. Blood Eagle proj definitely goes…. But I think it’s time to return to the bigger proj 👀

Thanks @futurewatt for a sick sesh on this boulder yesterday and for the dope footy

Eclipse Sit v13/8b ✅

Didn’t think the intro was going to add much but it turned out to be a big fight. Got wrecked a couple times on some funky falls on the low somehow, psyched to get the full kingline down

Another fire 4 am sesh with @futurewatt was cool to see him look super strong on this thing too

19 years and still going strong - The Illume is the single photo competition that still gets my attention.

Since its inception over 30,000 photographers, from 120 countries have participated, and the photos that stick are not to be missed.

If you play in the adventure realm, don’t delay, clocks ticking with submissions closing soon.

No chains. Big progress. ⚫️

Black Hole (5.14a) at the China Cave in Logan Canyon, Utah 🧗‍♂️

No send today ❌ but definitely progress.

Day two on the route brought a new high point and the one hang. The wicked boulder problem that felt impossible is already noticeably better today, and I was stronger on every key hold. 💪

That’s one of the things I love about projecting. Sometimes the biggest victory isn’t clipping the chains, it’s leaving the wall knowing you’ve raised the ceiling.

Looking forward to getting back and giving this one another shot soon. ⚫️🔥

Ivory Sit v13 🌷

Thoughts on the pad stack? More below if you wanna hear mine*

What an incredible boulder 😳 might like limestone even more than LCC granite. Super sick day with @futurewatt between searching up the wrong gully for an hour and a half and projing this bullet climb in the 75 degree super humid temps. If a climb has to be anything but a cave, this one is pretty much exactly my style. Flat incut crimps, high feet, and glassy texture are what I grew up on at my home crag Ptarmigan. So psyched that I could try a boulder that embodied such a style I’ve spent so long on in the past

Had to try really hard to get this one done in a day. Thought of a few things on the grade but I don’t think I can trust any of the sensations with the heat. It’s sort of a question mark to me so I went with what it’s listed at. So so psyched to come back and try the king line and the proj to the right

*Originally I thought I couldn’t grab the left hand start hold while sitting on one pad so my inner debate was if pad stacking or starting on a knee was more legit. After the send I realized if I sat on the asana (the much thicker pad that’s left here) instead of my Metolius I could just barely wrap my fingers around the start. Idk 🤷‍♂️

Of all the ups and downs, the rights and wrongs, and the coulda would’ve in a life well lived, nothing compares to getting this guy to 18. On Earth Day no less. Love ya bud ! So stoked for the next 18!
