Spending the morning in an ecstasy of language and emotion. • • I highly recommend The Summer of Pink if you are looking for a new beautiful read by the pool! • • Teacher, writer, influencer, activist, and poet, Gabrielle Mbeki writes to heal. • • #SummerOfPink is a wonderful collection of poems reflecting on the breakdown of relationships and intimacy, and how it influences a person. Created with three sections in mind to show the intuitiveness of looking at the past, present, and future, with the help of three Major Arcana tarot cards; the most impactful cards to the author in order to guide her, and the reader through her path of love, loss, and redemption. • • Read more on the blog! This one can be found on a brand new addition to GFY called Black Owned. ( dropdown under La Vie)

heads up: this is @gabbymbeki and she’s an educator, a writer (@g.mbeki), and someone who’s been a great mental health advocate. 💗 I’ve had the pleasure of hearing her read from her book of poems “The Summer of Pink” (head to @g.mbeki to get the link to buy your own copy) and I’m very thankful she shares her voice and her experiences. ✨👩🏽‍🦱✨ swipe to see “Ideal Bookshelf 1162: AntiRacism” by @jane_mount which showcases great non-fiction books to decolonize your bookshelf. 📚 and then head to the African American Literature Book Club (aalbc.com) for a list of Black-owned bookstores in the US. #amplifymelanatedvoices #antiracism #idealbookshelf

my friend @gabbymbeki published a collection of her poetry and it's beautiful, heartbreaking, and brave. If you are familiar with Gabby at all- through IG or her amazing weekly newsletter or have had the pleasure to share a meal with her, you know she is deeply thoughtful and reflective, so it comes as no surprise that this collection is just that. Bonus points for her compiling sections based on tarot cards that mean a lot to her. ✨ Go buy this book. #thesummerofpink
