Chance has been upgraded from adoptive chick and duckling daddy to an adoptive papa of 6! He truly LOVES babies of all species!

You’ve heard of a chick magnet, but have you heard of a rescue animal magnet? Another HVAC rescue times 6, and I’m like who is sending @g8torsteve these dogs? At this point I feel like we need to register as a non-profit animal rescue for the tax benefits because this is ridiculous…

Lilly always wants to be on the move now that she is free of those mats, but she mostly just walks back and forth or in some sort of pattern like she is mapping out her environment. She loves when she can get Chance to walk with her so she has someone to follow around. It’s been so rainy from the gulf hurricane, so she was doing her laps in the barn while we had a Harry Potter marathon in the movie room.

Thank you to everyone who suggested different dna dog tests! A lot of them had many cool features and options, but we went with a basic one that was cheapest from @dnamydog through @chewy . We will update you with Lilly’s results in a few weeks and hopefully settle the breed debate!

She accepted the eggs!!!! 🤞🏼 I hope Grace’s baby girl will not only hatch more than one, but that they will actually live to see adulthood. Follow to see how many she hatches!

Lilly is doing great! She is eating and moving around so much better than when we first brought her home. Now that she is eating better and she is starting to take some joint supplements, we are hoping to help relieve some of the arthritis she is experiencing in her back legs. She gets very tired and it can make them weak, but first thing in the morning she is spritely and wants to explore. Video of her wandering the homestead coming soon!

Last Fall, Grace disappeared and I thought she was a goner. But a few weeks later she came running out from the log pile where she hid a nest she had been sitting on. This hen is one of those babies she hatched, who has now gone broody for the first time. Is she just like her mama, Grace? Will she hatch out any of our 15 duck eggs? Follow along to find out!
