It’s so special when our couples come back to us as their families grow. 🤍 Five years ago, we were there to capture Kailey & Greg’s wedding day @crowleyopera , and now, on their actual 5-year wedding anniversary, we got to capture this beautiful new chapter with their baby girl, Lena. 🥹 We’re so honored that they continue to trust us with life’s most meaningful moments. Robbie has not smiled, laughed, or expressed any indication of joy for the longest time (in over a year), until now✨🥹 In the past couple of weeks, something has shifted. He’s been smiling intensely, in ways that tell us he’s comprehending what’s going on around him and experiencing moments of joy. Miss Rachel, you are a HUGE part of that! Thank you for giving kids something to smile about, especially those who need it most (us #specialneedsparents too). To everyone who supported us in our #RaisingRobbie fundraiser. THANK YOU 🤍 We’ve been quiet lately—because honestly, it’s been a lot… Thank you for your continued support, we’ve been able to keep showing up for Robbie in the ways that matter most. He’s still receiving daily developmental therapies, and we are transitioning off of the ketogenic diet after realizing it was bringing more struggle than relief… Right now, we’re walking through another chapter of unknowns, and it’s been deeply disheartening. Robbie has recently developed urinary retention, which led to a bladder infection. He now has a Foley catheter in place, and we’re scheduled to meet with a pediatric urologist to try to understand what’s happening. What we don’t know is whether this is a side effect from medication, a temporary issue, or a sign of neurological decline tied to his intractable seizures and the progression of his infantile spasms. This is the space we live in: a constant catch-22. A dance between hope and heartbreak. We don’t know if this is his new baseline or just a season that will pass... And it’s so hard—so, so hard—to watch your child go through this and not have answers... Not knowing how much time we have, or how long his body can keep up, is the most impossible thing to carry. This doesn’t mean we are at end-of-life right now. But the truth is, that reality isn’t far from reach. And that’s something we are quietly trying to come to terms with, without losing ourselves in the fear of it. So for now, we continue. We manage what we can. We advocate fiercely. We show up fully. And above all—we try to keep Robbie comfortable and surrounded by love. Thank you for walking with us, even when the road is uncertain. Please keep praying for comfort, for clarity, and for peace. Do you need extra time together on your wedding day? We definitely recommend it! One of the best times we saw our couples have was this day when Kailey and Greg took an extra hour out of their day JUST FOR THEM!! Let us repeat that…they had a whole hour just to themselves! (With us tagging along obviously) Kailey and Greg wanted to do a first look, but not only did they have a moment where they were able to see one another before everyone else, they just took it real slow and enjoyed some well deserved time together on their special (yet very busy) day to let time pass a bit slower and really let it all sink in. They took photos cuddling together, danced, exchanged the most meaningful gifts, reminisced about how they met, and laughed and cried all at the same time. Those moments they had were definitely some of the best moments that they’ll share in their lives. AND BONUS, they have photos of it all! 😍 Who wants to know what their gifts to each other were? We’ll have to post that too! So cute! We love these two and the friendship we’ve created with them!
