Eight years ago, at 19 years old, I dropped out of school to chase a dream.

I had no experience running a business and only a couple years of coaching experience. People thought I was crazy and told me to go back to school, but I believed in the vision.

I started Game Time Elite Training and trained anywhere I could. Parks, rec centers, high schools, church gyms. Anywhere I could find a court.

In 2021, iamcoachdom blessed me with an opportunity to build a small court inside his sports performance gym. For the first time, athletes had a place to call home.

In 2023, @byanymeansbasketball and I joined forces, rebranded to @detail_sandiego and started @adaptacademysandiego. Our goal was to create a place where athletes could grow as players and human beings.

Then 2024 changed my life.

I lost our gym, went through difficult circumstances and hit rock bottom.

But that was also when the Lord saved my life.

I found Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and He transformed me. He showed me grace, mercy, forgiveness and love. He picked me up when I was broken and made me brand new.

About six months ago, I felt the Lord calling me in a different direction.

I fought it. I wrestled with it. I didn’t want to let go of something I spent eight years building. But He made it clear it was time.

After eight years, I’ve made one of the most difficult decisions of my life and decided to step away from Detail San Diego and Adapt Academy to follow where God is calling me next.

@byanymeanssilva will be taking over ownership. I know what we built is in great hands.

To @byanymeansant @byanymeanssilva @byanymeanstc, thank you for every sacrifice you’ve made for this place and these athletes. Love y’all.

To the @byanymeansbasketball family, I’m forever grateful for every one of you. I love y’all boys and will never forget the memories. I’ll forever be rooting for y’all.

To every coach, family and athlete who believed in me and trusted us, thank you. None of this happens without you.

I’ll still be coaching high school basketball. There is much more to come.

Eight years later, I’m stepping away from one dream to follow the calling God has placed on my life.

All glory to God.
