What a perfect ending to two years of screening Wild Horses at the Door at Stories Worth Telling in Golden, Colorado. A Rocky Mountain high! The most emotive audience yet, with the longest applause as the credits rolled. “So beautiful. I laughed and cried and wish the best for John.” Another woman shared that horses had saved her life: “This story was so well told, of how horses heal!” The film sparked thoughtful reflections and aha moments, and aspiring filmmakers told me they want to make documentaries like this. Ahhhhh!!! Thank you, @gabe_rovick for including the film in a festival celebrating unique stories and the filmmakers who bring them to life. Some of my favorite films were made by women whose storytelling was rich with depth, emotion, and humanity: @shutupbiz @megan.sweeneyyyy @taimiarvidson @grace.t.s.p @dioneroach 💕💪🏼🙋🏼‍♀️ Grateful to dear friends Gillian Bowser, Jake Barisano, and Diana Scherr (with her mom, Jan) for coming to support me. Diana opened her home to me while I filmed in Minturn and has cheered me on ever since. And to John, whose story brought me to that remote mesa, and to the wild horses still struggling for their freedom. May their stories inspire compassion, understanding, and a deeper appreciation for the lives we share this Earth with. 💚 #documentary #filmfestival #equinetherapy #colorado #womeninfilm

The Adventure Shorts program brings together films that capture the spirit of adventure, and the beauty of pushing beyond the familiar. From wild landscapes to unforgettable journeys, these stories celebrate the people, places, and experiences that inspire us to get out there and explore. Winner Gets Cake - “Brakes off, brains off.” Journey to the upland, impossible-to-predict terrain of fell running and experience the chaos, culture, community, and cake that defines this very British pursuit. The Bride Of Mont Blanc - In a profound act of historical resurrection, modern day adventurer, Elise Wortley straps on her 19th Century hobnail boots and bonnet to celebrate History’s forgotten female explorers Bravo Les Filles - This short documentary follows former world champion rock climber Sasha DiGiulian and her climbing partner Mariana “Mango” Ordoñez as they attempt to complete a thrilling mission in Madagascar that was initiated in the 1990s by their climbing idols. Continuum - The film follows skier Doug Evans, who has skied every month for 289 months - not for recognition, but for connection. Through shifting seasons and changing landscapes, Doug’s pursuit becomes something deeper: a meditation on time, nature, and the meaning of continuity. “Nor-Frickin-Way” - Jason Hardrath and Nathan Longhurst partnered up with Vertical Films to bring a story of friendship, mentorship, and the beauty of speedflying in Norway Sailing Above the Clouds - At 8,000 feet above sea level, nestled in the Rocky Mountains, 94-year-old Scally O’Donnell carries on his grandfather’s unlikely dream: the highest sailing club in the world. Between Volcanoes - In Ecuador’s volcanic corridor, endurance athlete Chris Fisher discovers that the journey matters more than the summit. Tickets available now storiesworthtellingfestival.com

Their mission is to use the power of sailing to help veterans build confidence, community, and new connections beyond military service. Out on the water, we saw that mission in motion. Through changing conditions, long nights, and the relentless push toward the finish, we captured a story about finding what’s possible when you move forward together Watch the full film at the link in bio.
