Two painting from this past week. The first was from the open studio that I host at Gage on Monday evenings 6:30-9:40. Yes, that hand is rough (and too big.) The second one is from @seattle.studioparadiso, which had some proportional/drawing issues of its own… hence the tight crop. Ahh well, every battle has its moments? Right? Maybe??

Don't just recreate what's in front of you! Details are often illusions, not a 1:1 copy like a printer. You can change lighting and color from reality to create focal points. The world is your oyster! Everything in your artwork can secretly be an oyster. Think about what you want your viewers to see, instead of exactly diagramming your reference or model. And if you want your viewer to see oysters, that's up to you 🦪

Thank you Arthur for asking me to pose for this 15 hour sculpture pose. Your piece is amazing and the studio ran so good! Thank you for running such a wonderful open studio!

As mentioned above this was a 15 hr pose that wrapped up on 10/16 and the artist was tagged on the last pic.

I have not been posting my new art for various reasons as my fellow artists know AI is one of them. In my moments away I’ve been growing, changing, breaking cycles. Embracing and loving myself truly. These changes are hard, painful and exhausting, like any birth beautiful and bloody and emotional but worth it when you see the magic of the birth come to light. This is a peak into the depths of my souls journey. A new series coming soon “Amongst the Rubble”.

Pepper Project update! 🌶️

Now that our first-year students in the Atelier have finished modeling their peppers at twice life size, it’s time to build the waste molds. The goal: transform the clay peppers into plaster!
