We’re delighted to welcome back Grace of @gaj.studios to Witches Harvest! Grace creates handcrafted ceramics inspidred by their appreciation for the natural world merging colour, texture and tactile experience in pisces designed to be both beautiful and practical. From functional dinnerware to decorative sculptures and urns - each work reflects their fascination with the materials of the earth and the many easy they can be transformed through thoughtful craftspersonship. A new chapter for our studio. We’re stepping into something new and we couldn’t be more excited. Grace has joined Farnoush as co-owner, and together we’re ready to get to work: two artists who care deeply about clay and the community around it. As for changes behind the scenes - Dustin has moved on, and we wish him well with what’s next. Grace (they/them) is queer and non-binary, of Estonian and Scottish descent, living on MST lands. After years in biology and ocean sciences they found their way back to art - and haven’t looked back. Seven years into ceramics, clay has become their medium for self-expression, creativity and wellness. Teaching is a big part of their practice and they’re looking forward to sharing that joy with more people. Farnoush Golkar (she/her) co-founded the studio in 2022.  She is a queer Iranian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist with a primary focus on ceramics for over five years. Her work is rooted in her Iranian heritage and a love for forms that evoke a sense of the past. She’s entering this new chapter with a focus on creative freedom in her practice. Together, we’re building a ceramics community - relaxing, inspiring, a place to create, connect, and learn from each other. A safe space for QTBIPOC folks. Somewhere friendships and creative relationships grow naturally. We have a lot coming: classes, workshops, and more, starting this summer. Stay tuned. - Farnoush & Grace

The beautiful sculptures have emerged in their final forms and they are just so wonderful and stunning! I’m over the moon with how incredibly everyone’s pieces came out. Everyone had their own creative vision and style and it is so fun to see them all together. Some are still on display at @vancouverceramics for a bit. Check them out at 79 W 3rd ave. Thank you to the wonderful group of people who were my first sculpture students! I can’t wait to do it again! Proudest teaching moment so far- I just ran my first sculpture class at @vancouverceramics and I am so thrilled with how incredible everyone’s creations are!! We worked on solid forms that were hollowed out. Everyone had their own creative vision and executed them beautifully. It was a lot of work (and hopefully a lot of fun!). Incredibly there were no kiln casualties (thank you kiln gods, and also studio techs!)! We are still waiting for the final pieces to emerge from the glaze kiln so there will be another update to come but I couldn’t wait any longer to show you all these incredible works of art. Thank you so much to my students for trusting me and joining the class, you are all amazing! I look forward to running it again in the future! Not featured here are works by @eclectic_artyst still in progress, hopefully finished pics with the rest later. Andrew is not tagged due to not being on IG, creator of the sitting grizzly bear. #sculptureclass #vancouverceramics #ceramicsculpture
