What a night!! We packed the house last night for the @gloriaprojectmovie screening in Kensington, which was sponsored by @womenswayphilly and @bigpicturealliance. Two amazing organizations that have lifted me up in so many ways that it was only natural for this incredible collaboration to emerge! We also had an inspiring discussion afterwards led by Aathiria Chennat (Women's Way Program Manager and featuring @galaeiphilly's ED Hazel Edwards, founder of Womxn Beyond Borders Dr. Sappho Fulton @brieflyseen and myself as we spoke about the importance of collaboration and above all uplifting QTBiPOC folks who are continually having boots on the ground supporting them. Sappho and Hazel, you both continue to put community on your backs and carry them through the fire. I'm always in awe of what you can accomplish and appreciate you both for participating last night! This evening brought so many communities together from all walks of life and it filled the room with the atmosphere that I think Gloria would be period of! ➡️➡️➡️ Next Screening is on Nov. 4th with the whole "Founding Further" film series produced by @bigpicturealliance @phillyfilmcenter! Also, I want to give a special shout out to our Executive Producer, Aleks Martray for continually supporting The Gloria! Project in creative ways and Caroline Jones and Jessica Muslin from Women's Way for organizing an amazing night! #GloriaCasarez #independentfilm #documentary #lgbtq #latinx

good morning everyone and a happy hump day to you all! Have y’all missed us? Because we sure as hell missed y’all. The past couple of months have been rough on our team so we needed some time to regroup ourselves. Friendly reminder that U.G.L. is made up of Black Trans people of varying experiences and struggles. The work our team does is entirely volunteered based so please be patient with us if we are delayed, we promise we’re doing the best we can with what we have. If you’re interested in volunteering or reparations work please DM us. This weekend come out to Philly TBoy Wrestling to support their fundraising efforts on behalf of U.G.L. AND South Philly Pups with Lunch! All proceeds raised are for good causes and the sustainment of Black Trans people in our city. Additionally we’d like to express further gratitude to Philly TBoy Wrestling for raising nearly $1500 for us this summer. All proceeds raised are going towards mutual aid programming and the Black Trans Holiday Dinner on December 12th. Grant Link is in our Bio and the deadline is this Sunday October 25th at 11:59 PM. The grant is ONLY for Black Trans Women and Transfemmes who are affected by transmisogynoir. Wishing everyone a blessed day ahead! ❤️💯
