Living with art. 🤍

I’ve been collecting artwork that feels good to me for many years - right alongside making my own.
Some pieces bring calm, some energy, some just make me smile when I walk by.

They change how a space feels… and how I feel in that space.
And when I know the artist, it’s even more special.

I think collecting is really just choosing what you want to live with, every day.

What kind of art do you love living with — calm, bold, playful, or all of it?

Shadow workshop this Sunday! Comment ‘light’ for info on joining me this Advent for my new live workshop series where we explore portraiture together through the darkest time of the year. The overarching theme will be simplification.

We meet via Zoom.
Each workshop will focus on some foundational techniques through sketching followed by creating a more refined portrait. This Sundays topic is Shadow. As we create together you’re encouraged to ask questions and I can provide the direct support you may need along the way.

The workshops are approximately 1.5 hours beginning at 20:30 CET, 2:30pm EST 11:30am Pacific.

In addition to the workshops I’m also hosting daily live stream sketch sessions on my YouTube throughout December. Subscribe to my YouTube (at)dylansara

Thanks to all the wonderful muses for these drawings. You can find most of their tags on the respective slides.

The full portraits from The Facial Features Course by @dylan_sara through MyKajabi. Amazing muses throughout. Loved each module and the ease of focusing on certain aspects of the face.

I definitely need to practice more! But I loved every single part of it, even the struggles.

Dylan Sara's Facial Features course week 5. We are pulling it all together to a full Portrait. I am struggling with the proportions. May the muses be amused. Thank you so much for your braveness to share your faces with us. Thank you @dylan_sara for this wonderful course and all your feedback effort.

Today 9pm German time is the last of the live sessions from the first round of my Facial Features Course. If you’re registered for the course, no matter where you are in your progress I’d love to have you there.

It’s been great reading in the course community about what insights people have gained through the lessons. There will be future rounds of the course, if you’d like to get on the wait list comment ‘course’ and I’ll send you the link.

I’ll be getting back to streaming after this and am offering a new round of advent workshops! Stay tuned for those 🙌✍️
