Little makes between big WIPs

I installed a piece in my first art show! My friend Charlie and I put together banner kits to raise money for our immigrant communities and got to display one of them as part of Chicago Textile Fair. I feel so lucky to hang my work alongside so many beautiful artists. If you get the chance to visit @gallerywrightwood this month you won't be disappointed!

Saturday October 10th at The Plant is a classic maker’s market, a chance to shop and connect with other makers and enthusiasts. Closing out the weekend on Sunday October 11th at Gallery Wrightwood, we will focus on skill sharing and live demonstrations from textile artists and educators of all mediums.

Tickets on Eventbrite are optional donations that 100% support participating artists! 🥳

Interested in Projector Sewing but have no idea where to begin? This Sunday (10/11) my short throw projector and I will be at Chicago Textile Fair’s Skill share day from 2pm-7pm at @gallerywrightwood! I will preform demos on how to calibrate your machine and set up your patterns for tracing throughout the day at 2:30, 3:45, 5:00, and 6:15pm!

Need help figuring out how to take measurements for figuring out what pattern size to make? I’ll have printouts and tools to make that task of sewing go seamlessly!

The Chicago textile Fair is in just TWO short days!

On Sunday October 11th, from 2pm-7pm, join us at @gallerywrightwood for a skill share/demo day, with 15+ artists and programs to learn and engage with.

To get the most out of the Fair, you could:

🧵 bring items to mend

🧶 bring and swap fabric, tools, notions, yarn, and other textile items to our textile swap

👖 bring a jacket or other clothing to add a patch or two

Pay what you can tickets are appreciated, but not required. 100% of ticket sales will be given to our Sunday skill share artists

The Chicago Textile Fair is in just TWO short days!

On Friday October 9th, from 6:00-9:00pm, join us at @gallerywrightwood for a presentation of 36 textile artworks from artists across the Chicagoland area.

Around 7pm, Hope Wang of LMRM will join us on stage for a presentation of her work, process, and creation, followed by a facilitated discussion and audience Q&A.

Light refreshments will be provided

I am thrilled to be an artist at Chicago Textile Fair at @gallerywrightwood! The opening is this Friday 10/9 at 6pm! I am showing a work I finished this summer titled “Grandma’s Garden” which includes plates from broken plates from Chicago, rural Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Alabama, Louisiana, Iowa, & Nebraska, and tsotschkes from my late grandma.

The exhibition is absolutely incredible! There are so many lovely textiles to see. The space at @gallerywrightwood is truly beautiful and contemplative and a wonderful home for all of these special artworks! I hope to see you there!

There are also two more days of events — a makers market on Saturday and a Skill Share on Sunday. It’s going to be a very textile-y weekend and I’m thrilled!

(This is one of those times when I’m rereading this caption and seeing all my exclamation marks and thinking that maybe I should remove some but ultimately deciding not to because I am truly so excited about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Join us for a weekend of programming celebrating Chicagoland fiber and textile artists. Our 2026 theme of “Sustainable Communities” will connect programming across three days of inspiration, community, and education. The Chicago Textile Fair will feature three distinct days of programming. On Friday October 9 at Gallery Wrightwood, we are hosting an opening reception for an art show from 6–9 p.m. with a keynote lecture featuring Hope Wang of LMRM and a facilitated discussion. Saturday October 10 at The Plant is a classic maker’s market, a chance to shop and connect with other makers and enthusiasts.
