“Nick Gottlieb is the best choice for Skeena. He is extremely well-researched on the issues in our region that matter most. It’s refreshing to have a candidate who actually has facts and data to back up their promises. The Greens are the only party that has been forthright in their support of the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which is something very important to me. In 2026 I didn’t think Indigenous people would have to be fighting for our existence again but here we are.

I can’t ignore the fact that the NDP wanted to pause DRIPA, legislation that reflects a global commitment to Indigenous rights. I also cannot ignore that Eby is allowing LNG Canada Phase 2 and other megaprojects to move forward without addressing the ongoing injustices enacted by these companies and the RCMP towards the Indigenous people who continue to lawfully own & occupy the unceded lands and waters that have sustained us for millennia. After voting NDP for my entire adult life, I firmly believe the only way forward now is Green.”

Jeremy Pahl, Professional Musician and Sm’algyax Language Speaker, Gitga’at First Nation

Final voting day is TOMORROW, October 24th! Get out there and vote @greenpartybc! #skeena #northwestbc #terracebc #kitimat #bcvotes

Hot on another case…………
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

We have arrived at the the weekend once again, Friday is here and we close down this weeks spotlight part 5/5 “A Dreamcatcher in Sound: Indigenous Music of North America”

Today’s group is a Canadian fuzz rock power trio hailing from the weed loving province of British Columbia.
Their name translates in to English as “Waterspout” or “Sea Tornado”
They were originally named “Salt Water Hank” until a community elder advised them otherwise;

@gamksimoon - “Gyiin Nax Nox” released in July of 2026 by You’ve Changed Records.

Only 200 pressed originally a very hot title and highly recommended first turned on to this album by Jason Flowers @supremeechorecords

Tune in tomorrow for another episode of Field Tripp’n as we head back to the big smoke for a crate digging trip to @cosmosrecords

Come back on Monday as we kick off October with a creeping spotlight on Ralph Records superstars The @residents

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation may have been yesterday, but listening, learning and supporting Indigenous communities is important year-round. 🧡

One way to keep that support going is by shopping Indigenous-owned businesses, discovering local artists and makers, streaming Indigenous musicians, attending Indigenous-led events, and sharing their work with your community.

We’ve put together a growing list of Indigenous businesses, artists, musicians and creatives to know and support in Vancouver and beyond.

Click the link in our bio to explore the full guide and keep the support going all year long.

On the same weekend that Metallica announce a concert in Vancouver, Gamskimoon bring the thunder to Convergence. A clear sign from the rock gods, ignore it at your peril.

Gamksimoon (Terrace/Prince George) delivered. This rural BC group is now officially my personal fave of 2026.

A heavy rock power trio combining authentic rhythms and melodies inspired by pre-contact Ts’msyen traditions with elements of melodic punk, sung entirely in the Sm’algya̱x language.

Front-man Jeremy Pahl mentioned that there are only 56 people who speak Sm’algya̱x and only two are aged under 70. It is one of the rarest languages in the world. All three members are masters of their instruments, high energy and progressive in their approach.

I’m not done with my celebration of Gamksimoon, on the contrary — just getting started. An incredible group which will hopefully play in Vic sometime. LPs available at the shop and I can’t wait to hear what they do next. Bravo gentlemen.

I feel spoiled getting to watch @gamksimoon perform twice this week. Come Toward The Fire at the @chancentreubc was incredible to witness, there were so many talented indigenous artists, musicians and storytellers under one roof. Mēduh Chō for including this Tahltan. If you dig this song you should check out Gamksimoon’s full length record “Gyiin Naxnox” on Bandcamp and on vinyl. I bought mine from @highlife_records if you’re a Vancouver local!
