📌 Save these walks for your next trip to Salcombe! There are so many magical walks in and around Salcombe, and the views have inspired so many of my marine landscape paintings. If you’re visiting this holiday, these are our top 3 favourite walks to try: 1. Snapes Point The one I almost didn’t share! With the most magical panoramic views across the Salcombe estuary and town, this gentle 1-mile walk is my absolute favourite. Park at the Snapes Point National Trust car park (postcode TQ8 8NQ) and follow the path before climbing a few steps up to the point. The views are simply breathtaking! 2. Gara Rock This is a spectacular coastal walk with a couple of different routes to choose from. If you’re coming from Salcombe, hop on the ferry from the steps beside The Ferry Inn to cross the estuary. Once on the other side, you can walk along the road to Mill Bay if the tide is in, or enjoy a lovely stroll along the beach if the tide is out. From Mill Bay, you have two options: 🌿 The Inland Woodland Trail: Head up through the car park, woodland and fields towards @gararockhotel , where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views across the open sea towards Bolt Head. 🌊 The South West Coast Path: A more rugged coastal route with incredible views of North and South Sands as you follow the rocky path. The walk is roughly 4–4.5 miles in total. 3. Bolt Head For this walk, you can choose your starting point depending on how far you’d like to go. Park at North Sands or Overbecks (parking at South Sands is very limited) and follow the coastal road past Overbecks and towards Starehole. As you pass Starehole, the path becomes narrower and more rugged, but before then, you’ll be treated to magical views back down the estuary and across Starehole itself. We’re very excited to be heading to @gararockhotel for our 22 October Business Club! With plenty of time to meet and chat with other local businesses before a ticketed supper. As always, the first part of the evening 5.45-7pm is free for Chamber members, so you’re very welcome to come along just for the networking. Non-members are also welcome.
