The Weather Channel is one of the most exciting emerging entities in the Melbourne streetwear scene. In an environment where starting a brand seems to rarely entail more than having an Instagram account and a logo, Mike Kennedy's approach to design is refreshingly old-school. Implementing his skills as an illustrator, designer and curator, Kennedy's Weather Channel weaves together a unique visual language pulled from film, golden-era streetwear, and vintage Americana, forecasting what is worth paying attention to, and what we should rediscover. Mike asked us to make some coffee to accompany the Milk Glass mugs he meticulously manufactured in Gifu, Japan, and help build out a focused capsule collection. The brief was no house blends, just the best stuff, straight up, presented with his characteristic flair. We tapped the savants at @pathmelbourne to bring us some of the best coffee of the season, and together we are thrilled to offer an exquisite Naturally processed Kurume from Ethiopia. Clean, lively and brimming with Elderflower sweetness, this isn't your old head's cup of mud. Together we are launching this collaborative capsule tomorrow night, Saturday 8th, exclusively at High Note, Northcote, from 6pm until late. Try it and you'll like it!
