Yesterday was such a reminder of why I love this industry. Being in a room full of creatives, educators, beauty pros, and people who genuinely love what they do was exactly what I needed.

Thank you @probeautydirect @texturerich for continuing to create spaces for us to connect, be inspired, network, learn, and build real community. I got to see so many of my favs, reconnect with beauty friends, and meet some new ones too. 🫶🏾

After 20+ years in this industry, I’m still inspired. Still learning. Still growing. And still excited about what’s next.

One thing I’m learning in this season is how important it is to get in the room. You never know what conversation, connection, or moment of inspiration can spark your next move.

FINALLY got through processing such a huge milestone.
@naeemahlafond the trailblazer you are! You are thee representation of what it looks like to pave your own way in an institution that clings to its sometimes archaic and mystic traditions. And on top of that is changing and elevations our representation of what textured hair looks like in media. Mommas is doing the work. I hope your pillow is always cool on both sides!

Let’s also talk about @olaplex giving me the opportunity I was secretly waiting for, my debut platform appearance! We kinda go together now, I’m not sure if they know it. But we are very much in the honeymoon phase of a well aligned partnership, at lease we are in my head. 😂 I also gagged seeing the curl campaign I did at such a huge scale!

And @curlfactor for sharing the stage with a newbie! You lead with so much grace. Thank you for making the stage feel like a safe place for me.

Wooooohhh! That’s a lot. And I haven’t even told yall about my award for rising visionary!!!! Visionary is such a scary word and I hope to continue to build a career that shows a discerning vision that reflects art that is timeless.

Also, also, me and @chuckielovehair ahhhhhhh!!!! I got me a Chuckie Amos custom and I can’t wait to frame it!

All in all, @textureonset feels like community, and to be seen and celebrated by community is the biggest accomplishment for me.

Lastly, but never the least, so much gratitude for @marvtarv and @cut_by_a_don for all the support!!!

Texture On Set was already special on its own…

but getting four days with people who understand your passion, speak your language, and dream just as big as you do? That’s the part I’ll never forget. 🌸

We laughed nonstop, talked & prayed on our goals, created content everywhere we went, learned more about our craft, and honestly just got to be carefree for a little while.🙌🏾

Forever grateful to do work that still feels like play.✨

Hosting is my Zone of Genius. I love celebrating my people and the energy in the room was unmatched. , I walked out and said welcome to “texture on set AND Naeemah LaFond” and people started screaming. That is the excitement people have about THIS hair show and what it is doing hasn’t been done before.

I love seeing connections, love meeting each other, and seeing people happy to be in community and making new and uniting old friends. I love celebrating black culture and to be trusted by my friend and leader of @textureonset @naeemahlafond, I am honored to be with you as your advocacy work is truly spectacular.

Thank you for trusting me it’s a pleasure to be with you as you shine! Congratulations to everyone who participated and hairstylists this is something you want on your calendar for next year. Tbh it’s one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in real life. A fashion show, a history lesson, a cocktail hour, a live fashion shoot, an award show, agent conversations, panels with hair brands discussing healthy hair, platform work, booth experiences. All in 1 day. Trust me, you want to be there!
