Fun little Saturday! Was in Gale for a while doing photo shoots, but then ended up in @erinopteryx’s room for a drink and got wrangled into an entire “Barbiestar Galactica” group thanks to some spare outfits. It was a lot of fun wearing a romper 😂 Capped the night off with finally seeing the incredible @heyitschrislee and talking EVs.

Did a test run of the @projecthailmary suit Thursday night. Was able to last about 2 hours in it. Cooling vest worked great. Range of motion perfectly adequate. We discovered a couple of things we want to adjust. Overall a great success. Photo credits to @patloika @a7lprops and Mary-Stuart Galligan

There’s always some last minute hand sewing required for any costume. For the PHM EVA suit @generalleah used our time on the plane and in the hotel to finish up the glove stitching and attaching the FidLocks to the shoulders.

Here’s an extended look at the outstanding craftsmanship by my loving wife and partner @generalleah that went into scratch-building the undersuit, boots, gloves, and neck seal. Without her hard work and dedication to accuracy and wearability for these crucial components of the costume, I would only have a pile of parts to show.

D23 dump ✨ It was my first time going and I brought my Cap Jedi out for the day. I’m super thankful to have friends who explained how everything worked. I had so much fun, saw so many things to get excited about, and got to see so many friends. For light and liberty 🫡

SHOULDER BELL SOFT GOODS INTEGRATION

@generalleah comes through again with precision integration of the fabric, straps, and stitching over the printed shoulder bell parts. The straps wrap through holes in the flexible TPU/rubber-like pattern layer just like in the original.

MORE SOFT GOODS PARTS

@generalleah comes through again with incredible work on the canvas tube covers for the tether rope and oxygen hose (1” and 5/8” foam backer rod, respectively). Both have magnetic breakaway connections in case they are snagged or pulled away from the suit.
