It’s still Thursday where I am, and it’s dark out, so I feel I still get to post this for Thematic Thursday. This hashtag is managed by @merrymarriedmeeples. The theme this week is DARK ESS, suggested by @bordercityboardgamer and @generationboardgame.

Last night my gaming group played Mitternschtsparty, also known as Escape from the Hidden Castle. It’s a ridiculously fun game where your pieces moved around the board looking for a place to hide from Hugo the Ghost. Fast and easy to teach, learn, and play, it’s a great game for this time of year!

Found lot's of new games this week on Instagram.

This week's postings are by @brettspielkuratorin @spielhochzwei @_belleoftheboard_ @boardgameduck @meeple_university @themeepleguys @boardgametonic @shropshiregamingfamily @tommy_rolls_solo @boardgamemagnate @generationboardgame @boardandgaming @bradandkategames @boardgametablefor2 @meanderingmeeple

The artwork here is stunning though it looks a bit scary. But I guess that's because it's wildlife.

This game is the total difference because this looks more cozy and adorable boardgameswithb7

@tommy_rolls_solo found some cool solo games to try at Spiel.

Creature comforts looks so cute and has all the mechanisms I love: worker placement, dice placement and push your luck!

This is such a cool piece of art with cool headlines.

Sounds very interesting and will be available at Spiel!

Caribe will also be available at Spiel. A puzzly game where you are a scientist exploring the Carribean Sea in the 19th Century.

@boardgameduck and @_belleoftheboard_ have such a cool project, I am so jealous!! It's the The Sisterhood of the Travelling Journal - Board Game Edition. I don't know if there is something cooler than that?!? I love journaling and board games (obviously) and would love to do something like that. If any german people would love to do it. Hit me up 😂

A fine collection of purple pieces in games. If a game has a purple meeple, I will always take that. What's your color?

Here are some hot takes which are true. I love an unused theme cause let's be honest. There could be a bg theme for anything?!

Next Station London was one of my first games in my solo board game collection. There is now a new game for Berlin.

Was stopped by beautiful looking components in this game.

I really really want to try Ada's Dream but I fear I won't have the chance.

I saw this prototype at UKGE in May and it sounded cool and even has a solo mode!

I'm a big fan of Foxglove Farm and would love to try Timber Town one day.

It’s #ThematicThursday started by @boardgameoverlord, and today’s theme is…

➡️ TREASURE HUNT ⬅️

chosen by @generationboardgame

🪙Let's go hunt some treasure!🪙

I mean, do publicized research on the history of an ancient culture respecting all traditions of the local cultures. 😅

Treasure Hunting is the theme chosen by @generationboardgame for #thematicthursday
( by @merrymarriedmeeples ).

The follow-up for Turing Machine, Archeologic is a deduction game that adds some spatial thinking into the mix to spice it up. If you strip it of the deco, it is very abstract and has nothing to do with Archeology. But hey, we aren't doing that, are we? So no worries!

For #wildcardwednesday by @han_playsgames - @generationboardgame asked us what game do we want more of?

I own the original version of Three Sisters by @25thcenturygames and I know there’s expansions out there for this but as far as I’m aware - there’s not one that is a hefty book of live stock. Similar to Tend, I’d love to have the option of tending to live stock in Three Sisters. Maybe collect some eggs, or wool or milk for extra points and showcase.

If anyone has the original and Harvest edition, I’d love to know if the Harvest is worth owning too!

One of my favorite games that I discovered this year is Moon Colony Bloodbath. And in today’s #wildcardwednesday @generationboardgame asked „Give me more! Games that deserve/need an expansion!“ And I was going through my games, and a lot of them have expansions already. Except for Moon Colony Bloodbath.

Maybe an expansion called: Moon Colony Bloodbath - Moon Stone Expansion: Moon Stone made out of acrylic are a new resource you can gain and use to avoid event or robot cards. What do you think of Moon Colony Bloodbath - More Blood Edition: Survive further events, save people and turn robots into your own little helpers.
@riograndegames if you need help for the Moon Colony Bloodbath expansion, let me know 😉

Which games do you think need an expansion?

Following my post about our visit to some local board game shops, here are our 5 purchases! Most were not pictured in my post because I couldn’t find them originally!

Tenby by @mightyboards

We were a little dubious about the hype surrounding Tenby but after being convinced I would love it by a number of trusted accounts (thanks @becki.vs.boardgames @samsoloboardgames @generationboardgame) I was incredibly excited to get my hands on it! We’ve had a play and we can not wait to share our love for it soon!

Soda Jerk by @allplayhq

This has been on a radar for a while and I have been eager to add this small box trick taker to our collection. I thought this game would be difficult to find in the wild, but lo and behold, Luke waved it at me from the doorway of the shop after I had missed it! Again, this game is brilliant!

Mountain goats by @allplayhq

We are big fans of push your luck games and I’ve been playing mountain goats religiously on BGA. I was really excited to introduce Luke to what I’m sure will be a new go to filler game.

Pulse by @libellud

How could we leave without the latest harmonies expansion?! We are looking forward to seeing what it adds to the game.

Wondrous Creatures Winterfall expansion by @badcometgames

It was inevitable that Luke would track down the last copy of the new Wondrous Creatures expansion. It’s one of his favourite games and we are excited to get it to the table to see how this enhances the game play

🏆 Soda Jerk is our #gameoftheweek (hosted by @tubbsplaysgames.) We have absolutely loved adding a chaotic trick taker to our collection!

♟: Nature: Modul 1: Flight
🗓: 2025 @NorthstarGames
🇩🇪 : 2062 @Haba_deutschland
📝: Dominic Crapuchettes
🎨: Catherine Hamilton, Alyssa McCarthy, Nina Pommelin
👥: 1-4
👪: 10+
⏰️: 30-45 Minuten
⚖️: Medium
🎲: Hand Management

Monthly Ladies morning @outrider_games I have only managed to go a handful of times but I love it. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. It's also a great atmosphere @outrider_games the guys there are great😊. It was lovely to see the ladies again that I had met previously @mashy_meeples @unicorns_and_boardgames @nerdygirlgaming @short.stuff.boardgames and also to meet some new friends too @paigeparkesx and @generationboardgame 😊
Had a great day and we got to play some great games, all except one was new to me😊

We played a fun game of Zoology from @ice_makes first ( loved the cute little magnifying glasses 🔍)

We then moved onto a card game with lovely artwork called Moonshine from @hachetteboardgamesuk .

After that another card game, Pinatas from @allplayhq Love how bright and colourful this little game is😊

Symbiosis was next from @hachetteboardgamesuk I did like this and found it quite thinky, trying not to give other players points 😊

Fate of witches from @oneboldstudio is one of mine and I am liking this more and more💚

Then @mashy_meeples showed a group of us how to play Orloj from @devirgames, hats off to her as there is alot going on in this game! It was explained perfectly, thank you @mashy_meeples ☺️ Loved Orloj and can see why its such a popular game..and its lovely and colourful too, bonus!🥰
Can't wait for the next meet up😊

Had a lovely time today at the Outrider Games Ladies Coffee Morning (which actually ended up being most of the day!)

I had so much fun that I barely took any pics. But I at least managed to snap each game that I played...

Zoology - a super light animal guessing game
Courtisans - a cutthroat set collection game
Loaf - a game about lazy bread bakers
Flip Pick Towers - a flip and write doodly game

On the other table I also saw Orloj and Moonshine being played, which both looked great.

Thank you to everyone who came and played games with me ❤️
