The horsebit takes its name from the snaffle used in a horse’s bridle. On the Colony, it sits across the saddle of a loafer whose character depends as much on the leather beneath it as the metal itself.

Black calf for a pair worn with tailoring. Brown suede for something a little less formal. The same shape can serve quite different wardrobes, which is where the choice of the wearer comes in.

The Churchill’s laces have never needed tying. They are imitation, with elasticated side panels allowing the shoe to slip on beneath a trouser cuff. The appearance of a full brogue, with rather less ceremony involved in getting dressed.

One of our most recognisable house styles. A chisel toe, fine broguing and a practical detail that is easily overlooked. Which is rather the intention. Designed by George Cleverley for Sir Winston Churchill.

Twice a year, @ggjr rolls into Los Angeles with Ben, @georgecleverley’s bespoke craftsman, for what is always an enjoyable experience for their trunk shows.

Shoe addiction aside, the catch-ups are always entertaining, and this year I was lucky to be invited to dinner. There, the shoe community grows, friends are made, stories take shape, and the enjoyment continues. Thank you so much to George, Ben and Claire for the inclusion. You all are the absolute epitome of the intersection of luxury & approachability and I wouldn’t change a thing.

If you haven’t heard my podcast with George from a few years back, it’s a don’t-miss peek behind the curtain of the storied shoemakers based in the Royal Arcade in London’s Mayfair.

Behind the shoes, a few stories of his own.

Our CEO, Mr. George Glasgow Jr joins @robbreport for ‘The Answers’, reflecting on what he continues to learn from his father, the craftsmen at the heart of Cleverley, and the Royal Arcade premises we’re fortunate to call home. There’s room for a few personal favourites and some rather unusual commissions, too.

4일간 목사님과 찐하게 놀며 테니스까지 2시간친 결과 공개수업 앞두고 감기엔딩. 어찌어찌 시간 쪼개서 병원갔는데 이미 성대결절은 다시 생겨있었고 목이 엄청 부었… 다음날 공개수업 때문에 주사 맞고 약도 무진장 받았다…ㅋㅋㅋ 주말까지 갤갤댐.
